Vanek is an alternative rock band from Oak Ridges, Ontario, Canada. The main influence is Pearl Jam. The sound is a combination of Neil Young, Frank Sinatra, and early Arctic Monkeys.

In 1918, Jesse Vanek opened a corner store in Oak Ridges, Ontario. With the help of her family, Jesse went on to operate a summer camp for kids on Lake Wilcox. It is from this mission of love and respect that the music of Vanek lives.

Comprised of 4 members, Vanek began as an inspirational dream when Mark Pezzelato picked up a guitar for the first time in 1998. Inspired greatly by Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, the songwriting of Vanek naturally evolved into an alternative rock sound with heartfelt lyrics.

The years have seen Vanek grow from mere songwriting, to 3 full length albums along with solo acoustic performances. Vanek’s accomplishments as of late include the well anticipated album “Beyond Recognition” comprised of a new forward moving feel, melded with beautiful lyrical content.

Now as a full band, Vanek performs both as an electrical power quad and as an acoustic act. The purpose of Vanek is to use creativity in music to produce love and respect for all humanity.
