"UG FM playing "Words That No-One Heard""

Hi Vanessa

Was pleased to get your mail, and happy to say that I have played several tracks from the CD in some of my general content shifts,
And played “The Shadow” today on our program “Fairly Folk”.
I like the album very much ( it is sophisticated and very polished, contains some wonderful poetry ) and will continue to play tracks from it.

Unfortunately, UGFM is not available on line yet, (but we are working on it), nor is it re-broadcast anywhere else.

I look forward to seeing/hearing more music from you in the future. Please advise us of anything new, and if you plan on performing
anywhere in Victoria.

Thanks

Lauren Bunn

"Australian Songwriting Contest 2008"

Dear Entrant

It is with great pleasure and congratulations that we write to inform you that a song of yours has made it through to the Shortlist in the judging process of the Australian Songwriting Contest 2008! The details of which particular songs were successful have just been posted on the ASA website www.asai.org.au . Getting through to this stage is a great achievement, as there are thousands of songs entered every year into this competition.

So now the last stage of judging is underway! To know the final result, please look at the website around the time of 14th August, when the actual Top 10 results will be posted.

Don't forget to purchase tickets to the gala National Awards Night in Sydney on the evening of Thurs 28 August 2008. Do this via email to the ASA National Office on asanationaloffice@bigpond.com or via post at ASA, Locked Bag 18/178 NEWTOWN NSW 2042. Tickets are in limited numbers, so get in early. Cost is $110, or $95 for members. (If you happen to be the eventual first place winner of your category, your pre-purchased ticket price will be refunded, as you will be performing on the night, and performers don't pay!!)

Kind regards

Clare Burgess

"Unisong Song Contest"

Date: 5/25/2009 12:14:23 AM
Status: Selected
Response: Congratulations, you have been selected as either a Winner, Top 20 Finalist, or receiving an Honorable Mention in the 12th Annual “Unisong" International Song contest.

You should already have received an e-mail notifying you & everyone of the results being posted on our website at: http://www.unisong.com. If you have not already done so, please visit there to see all the winners posted and your place in the final results. The top winners who are to receive cash and/or other prizes will be contacted directly about the distribution of these prizes.

This year featured a very high overall quality of songs and writers, with diverse and varied entries from a multitude of countries representing every continent on Earth except Antarctica (any songwriting penguins out there?).

The judging therefore was extremely competitive and to be singled out anywhere in the top 15% of all songs submitted was no easy feat. We had an extremely high percentage of Sonicbids members among the winners across the board at all levels, which makes you part of a very talented membership group. So extra kudos for that.

Thank you for all your support & interest in “Unisong’ and we look forward to receiving your entries again when we kick off the next edition.

Bio

My music is Adult Contempory, I like to write lyrics that are deep and meaningful - even abstract or cryptic.
My influences vary from Carol King to Pink Floyd - I enjoy all music genres, anything that makes me feel something.

My story..... I have been involved in acting / dancing / singing since very young. Always enjoyed writing poetry and short stories, however didn't write songs until I attempted to learn the violin 3 years ago. I changed to guitar and taught myself the chords I needed to help create the melodies for my songs. I then got together with friend and pianist Glen Muirhead who arranged the album "Words That No-One Heard" which I launched in Brisbane June 2007.

This year I have begun singing professionally with Brisbane band Hiway1.
