Vanilla Moon

Formed in mid 2005, Vanilla Moon got together a collection of covers, including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Bonamassa and Free songs, together with a few original compositions. By September of the same year, they played their first gig at the open air Thimbleberry Rock and Blues festival. That day the band proudly shared the same stage as Tony McPhee of "The Groundhogs". They started to gig regularly playing both small intimate venues and larger motorcycle rallies. At the same time, the band continued to develop their song writing, producing a number of Blues-Rock tracks and even incorporating elements of Jazz. The bands' popularity and local reputation has been growing since.

In October 2006, lead guitarist and singer Mitch Laddie, was given the opportunity to play on stage alongside his guitar hero, Walter Trout. A dream come true for Mitch at Colne in Lancashire, England. This opportunity has been repeated twice more, in Newcastle upon Tyne and in 2007, at Bolton, England during Walter's Power Trio tour. Mitch thanks Mr Trout for these opportunities and for his support and encouragement, both personally and of his band. Walter has responded by inviting Mitch to repeat his guest spot during his UK tour in October 2007. Two new guest spots have been arranged and more will follow if band commitments allow.

The band decided to take a break from gigging and have been writing new material since January 2007 adding 7 new songs to their repertoire.
They went into Wildtrax Recording Studios, County Durham at the end of May and the sessions produced a 5 track CD, Two Years, which they will be selling at gigs and on their website.

Their first gig since the hiatus was supporting the legendary Blues singer, Big George Brock at the Jumpin’ Hot Club, Newcastle upon Tyne in June 2007. This considerably higher profile gig produced much positive feedback and the band has now a full gig schedule for the rest of the year.
