Bio
Various Guises, a folk-duo of Maya McCourt & Blanche Ellis on cello, and guitar (with some acapella vocals and a little washboard thrown in for good measure) was formed late one night around a bonfire in Brockley and they haven’t looked back since. Playing original music, influenced by Blanche’s love of old New Orleans tunes and Maya’s love of English and European folk, the girls close-knit harmonies and delicate tunes aim to give the audience an experience of ‘new-old’ folk.
