Bio
Named after the 15th century explorer, Vasco Da Gama strive for uncharted territory, attempting to blend the rhythmic and harmonic intricacy of math rock with danceable grooves, singable choruses and blistering dissonance.
The band has been described as "jerkily ace post-hardcore" (The Fly) and having "razor-sharp time-signature tourettes mixed with big hooks" (Bido Lito!), but at the heart of it are essentially just four lads who love to play.
Influences are many and wide-ranging, but common comparisons include Faraquet, Q And Not U, The Mars Volta and Maps & Atlases and the band has thus far played shows with Dutch Uncles, Johnny Foreigner, Hot Club de Paris and Egyptian Hip Hop.
