VASSIŁINA is a Greek producer, singer-songwriter based in London. Her sound balances aesthetic elements of pop with dark electronic music. Long reverb, delay and field recordings create a romantic melancholic soundscape while self-destruction and chaos lead the body to a somatic ecstasy. Due to her origin, her sound has a lot of middle eastern influences. One of her biggest sonic references is Sevdaliza, FKA twigs and lot of British and French post-punk bands such as La Femme.
Lot of her recent work is about the fragmented perception of self and society. In her live set appears as a band with Luke Mannel in guitar and audiovisual and Τom Wright in live electronics. Her live performance is strong, intense and immediately drives the audience to an embodiment of her dark electronic sound.
In April 2018 she release her EP "In-Sōma " which stands for inside the body in Greek. Skin is the worst enemy. The most hostile cover. Inner voices reverb the body causing a somatic ecstasy. Fear is present but fear and pain are what keeps the body alive.“In-SōMA”. has been released by Undo Records on March 2018 and is available in all major digital platforms.
