Upon parting ways with established Bay Area band The Hundred Days, Ash Reyes (songwriter/vocalist/multi-instrumentalist) did what most people do after a breakup--she went for the steamy rebound. Reyes rekindled a musical romance that swayed for two decades with fellow songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/vocalist, Spencer Atkinson. 

Their most recent collaboration began with the two elaborating on each other's recordings via online cloud sharing. This exchange quickly resulted in a compelling sonic understanding--effective songs that possess witty electronic and tangible organic elements. 

Inspired by the new material, Reyes (vocals/bass/synth) and Atkinson (drums/programming/vocals) realized the project as a live band. They brought in the talents of Betsy Adams (guitar) and Luca Shutan (synth/keys) to freshen their musical perspective, and VAST WILD was officially named. 

Their sound has a foundation that is sexy, moody and dance-worthy--clever synth hooks, dynamic indie rhythms and commanding bass lines. Ash Reyes's multi-dimensional voice serves as an arresting guiding layer. 

VAST WILD self-produced and recorded the majority of their self-titled debut EP and produced their own video for the single, Give It Time. The EP made its way to the ears and favor of Aaron Axelsen, Music Director and radio DJ of SF Bay Area's LIVE 105. Give It Time has received praise and multiple plays on Axelsen's radio show, Soundcheck.

The band continues to write and record as they emerge onto the SF Bay Area live music scene.
