Bio

Originally from Hartford, Connecticut, 21-year-old Vaughn Lowe is determined to change the face of the music world. As a child, Vaughn moved to Atlanta, GA when his mother remarried; this move changed his life forever because the deep-rooted musical background of his stepfather shined a new light on music for him. Since the age of 10, Vaughn has been emerged in the realm of music as a self-taught audio engineer, songwriter, and producer. Influenced by the ever-present Jay-Z to the late Notorious B.I.G., Vaughn started recording songs with friends in his makeshift recording setup. Both his mother and stepfather would not allow him to only listen to Hip-Hop music, so growing up he habitually listened to Jazz, Funk, Soul, and even Rock/Alternative music. These influences have given Vaughn an undefined conglomerate-like musical style, which in turn gives him a uniquely transparent sound. His mother, an English teacher of over twenty-five years, has become a major influence on Vaughn. His mother encouraged reading, the non-use of slang terminology, and the research of things in which he did not understand, thus contributing to his strong song-writing skills. His parents, both cautious supporters, insured that he would have their full support with all of his aspirations as long as he stayed focused in school. This support included gifts of high-quality audio equipment and DAW software that most kids his age could only dream of. In his teenage years, Vaughn's absent father moved to Georgia to reunite with his son and rebuild the estranged relationship. Little to Vaughn's knowledge, his father was also musically inclined as a singer and a self-taught producer. Throughout high school, Vaughn recorded songs with his father at a multitude of recording studios in the metro-Atlanta area where he met many established artists whom also believed in his talent. These experiences solidified what Vaughn feels is his calling, to become a worldwide musician and open up the door for the likes of other young artists seeking to express them selves through music. Following his completion of high school, Vaughn took a break from music to pursue a degree at Georgia Southern University. He struggled to find his niche amongst the many majors at the University and mid-way through his third year Vaughn decided to take a break from school to figure out what he wanted to do with life. Within months of returning home, Vaughn landed a job at an independent record label, based out of Atlanta, as a recording engineer next to his father, the in-house producer for the label. The positive and negative experiences of this job reinforced Vaughn's initial passion in the music that he once loved so dearly. Days approaching his 21st birthday, Vaughn decided to start on his debut EP entitled 'The Lowe Life Theory,’ a project that he describes as "the many faces of whom he has become over the years". With the exclusive production of his father, Vaughn wrote over twenty tracks for the project and within two months of starting the album he narrowed it down to nine songs. In a letter to his future and current fans, Vaughn describes the meaning of the number nine, which has a meaning deep-rooted in religion, spirituality, and philosophy. In this letter, Vaughn states "the number nine beseeches us to recognize our own internal attributes, and extend these abilities out into the world to make a positive and influential difference." Vaughn is currently an active performer at popular venues, booming clubs, and exclusive Industry Mixers in the Atlanta-area. He hopes that someone who also believes in his vision will soon recognize his talent. No matter how you put it, Vaughn's passion will not go unacknowledged forever. Vaughn hopes that the world is receptive to his anecdote. If this desire is made true, he will be able to achieve what he has always aspired to do: change the world.
