"WAMi Festival 2007 Showcase"

"Probably the brightest becon on the South West musical map right now, Margaret River's Veeva feeva always put on one hell of a show.....the feeva pretty much stole the show.....there's great energy, crowd respect and affection for the material with this band....The collective energy on stage was massive and all told the set was, as per usual, a bombastic party." - Rip-In Magazine

Bio

Infusing a dynamic mix of genres from groovy funk to reggae, with charismatic live performances, VEEVA FEEVA (formerly known as Beeva Feeva), from the small Western Australian town of Margaret River, have created an original vibe that draws together and unifies audiences with their positive energy. Many have described their sound as “People Music” – real, fresh and catchy songs to make you shed inhibitions, dance and feel alive.

“The FEEVA” evolved in the summer of 2005, through a group of surfing friends hanging out, jamming and writing songs that celebrate the free spirited life that exists in this lush southern corner of W.A. From their foot stomping catchy tunes and energetic live shows their reputation rapidly grew.

Veeva Feeva has played along side such acts as The Violent Femmes, Salmonella Dub, Afro Cuban All Stars, Gomez, The Cat Empire, The Living End and Gyroscope. The band played at three of South Africa’s largest music festivals in 2006, including The Billabong Pro in Jeffreys Bay and also performed at the 2007 Big Day Out in Perth and Rip Curl Pro surf and music festival.

After being invited to play at two of South Africa’s largest music festivals in the Winter / Spring of 2006, the band received a grant from the WA Arts council to assist a 3 month extensive tour. With the help of South African record label Sheer Sound, the band found themselves hanging out with major artists such as Missy Higgins, gaining headline slots at major festivals and featuring on MTV Australia. Highlights of their tour included organising a collaborative charity performance in poverty stricken Soweto with local artists and recording new tracks and shooting a video clip for “Free as a Devil” in Durban.

In the band’s short history, they have achieved many milestones through hard work and a love for their music, including being finalists for the 2006 WAMi song of the year.

VEEVA FEEVA are set to launch their second EP and video “Free as a Devil” through Sheer Sound / MGM in 2007 and continue to tour nationally and internationally.

And they’re stoked!
