Vegas to Verona

BandRock

We are a rock and roll mutt. We draw from and incorporate different genres including metal, punk, classical, and good old rock and roll.

Biography

Seeking to shatter genre restrictions and bridge seemingly unbridgeable scenes, Vegas to Verona is a veritable Frankenstein's monster of sound and emotion. Forged in the ashes of several once popular St Louis locals, Vegas to Verona enlisted the cream of the crop and hit the ground running in June of 2005. With a record breaking* first show under their belts and several thousand friends worldwide requesting their presence (thanks to MySpace), the members of Vegas to Verona chomped at the bit thirsting for more. Their debut EP (Summer 2006), marks the beginning of the vehement touring regiment that will take Vegas to Veronas message worldwide.

*Vegas to Veronas first show dethroned Motion City Soundtrack as Robot Punch Productions best show (based on ticket sales and attendance).

Lyrics

Bullet Called Love

Written By: Vegas to Verona

Like a loaded gun that you never saw comin'
Well, she's got good aim
So, you better start runnin'
Its a long way to fall
You're a passionate man with a tendency to leave 'em
When she takes control
Boy, you better not believe her when she says
You're the one
Just play your part and forget your heart
I'm sure she'll understand
Run away
Run away, now

She was the only one that cared
The only one

So, now
The gun is to my head
Somehow the walls came down
Some things are
Better left unsaid
We're post regret
The gun is to my head

Make the best of a bad situation
She's a bullet hole
With a morbid fascination with the
Wrong kind of love
Don't look back you know she's playin' dirty
She's a heart attack
Man, I'm tellin' you you're flirting with
Disaster, disaster
Just play your part and forget your heart
I'm sure she'll understand
Run away
Run away, now

Matchsticks to Bad Memories

Written By: Vegas to Verona

It's not enough, not enough to pretend like
Hard hearts are hand grenades
We'll light up the skyline
Paint it black and watch it fade
We started off with the best intentions,
A lit match, and gasoline
We'll burn it down 'til there's nothing left but
Memories

My love,
In the end, if you should fall,
I will pull you from the ashes
Take heart
Just knowing I'll be there
And in knowing
Last forever

Try not to breathe
No, don't make a sound
Try not to breathe
There's so much to say
Just stay with me
We'll make it, I swear
Try not to breathe

One kiss, one kiss if you love me
Two shots if you turn away
We're arming our hearts with
Switchblades and poetry
We're pioneering a brand new fashion
Of slit wrists in magazines
Someone give me a new distraction...

My love,
In the end, if you should fall,
I will pull you from the ashes
Take heart
Just knowing I'll be there
And in knowing
Last forever

Don't you say goobye
Say goodbye

Try not to breathe

Try not to breathe
There's so much to say
Just stay with me
We'll make it, I swear
Try not to breathe

Take the long way home
Just keep telling yourself it's love
Drive until the sun comes up

1000 nights I will write your name in ashes from the end
Let us not forget
1000 times I will think of you and silently commit us to the end

Mexican Song

Written By: Vegas to Verona

You're on top of the world
But, don't look down
The air, I fear, is much too thin
And the price that you paid was too
High for the products that you've been sent
A brand, a mark, a scar across your heart
Tell me, where does the madness end

And, what do you have to show
For the pieces of your soul
I still remember everything that you swore
And you're only as good as your word
She killed in me an innocense that I loved
Now it ends with you

He'll not escape me
My vengeance bears his name
There's room for two here
In a honeymooners grave

Well, hell hath no fury
like a lover scorned
Or the redemption that's found
In a lifeless set of eyes
Hello, my love
Do you even recall my name?
The one you swore you'd love to the end of a--stop!!

And, what do you have to show
For the pieces of your soul
I still remember everything that you swore
And you're only as good as your word
She killed in me an innocense that I loved
Now it ends with you

He'll not escape me
My vengeance bears his name
There's room for two here
In a honeymooners grave

Then move not while my prayer's effect I take. Thus, from my lips, by yours, my sin is purged.

A thousand times goodnight.
