VELOCITY formed in February 2006. The lead singer and drummer, who are engaged, decided to start a band. Both performed with other bands in the past and had the itch. They brought on a guitar player, bass player and keyboard player. After choosing 75% of keyboard songs, their keyboard player decided that band life wasn't for him and his family. He spent many years on the road in a tribute band. Instead of nixing all the keyboard parts, the band chose to go with plan B, keyboard sequencing. After a long, hard journey of working on timing, triggers and click tracks, the band got to the point of excellence in this area. They continue to add keyboard songs to their already strong song list.
The band needed a name. After a practice, the male members went to get something to eat at the local bar/eatery. They put a list of band names on a piece of paper, walked around and asked people the following question: "If you were going out to see a band you'd never heard of, which name would you choose to see?" VELOCITY was chosen. The rest is history in the making.
VELOCITY is a Female Driven “ENERGY” Classic Rock, Five Piece Cover Band. The group includes Female Lead Vocals, 2 Lead / Rhythm Guitarists, Bass, and Drums to include keyboard sequencing.
Located in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, they bring the 70’s and 80’s back to life with energy and precision.
They are solid performers, are professional, friendly and sound phenomenal. Fun is the name of their game. “LET FREEDOM "ROCK!” is their tagline. They play music note for note and add in customization where they feel it’s needed to complete their sound.
Seasoned musicians include a full time Guitar Instructor with lead vocals, Pro Lead/Rhythm Guitar Player, Pro Bassist with solid harmonies and lead vocals, RUSH style technical Drummer and Female Lead Vocals that include both male and female songs, powerful and soaring highs and excellent projection.
Everyone can expect a performance full of energy and fun mixed with class and integrity. Family Friendly performances included.
VELOCITY concentrates on playing favorites that other bands don’t normally perform while focusing on the popular hits that everyone is looking to hear and/or hasn’t heard in a long time.
They love to perform, interact with the crowd and it shows. They will bring a good number of friends and family and their always-growing fan base to each show.
They have the best professional gear, have their own Sound Engineer, and will provide the PA if needed.
VELOCITY IS AVAILABLE TO PLAY YOUR PRIVATE OR CORPORATE EVENTS, FESTIVALS, CASINOS, NIGHT CLUBS, FUND RAISERS, HOLIDAY CELEBRATION, MOTORCYCLE EVENTS & PARTIES, SPECIAL CELEBRATION, ETC.
VELOCITY can provide a 3 -4 hour full night concert, a 2 - 3 hour headlining performance, a 90 minute to 2 hour power jam or a 1 - 2 hour opening set.
