"Street Voice UK Album Review"

VELVET BRICK - Bite Down Hard: Texan Rockers 'Velvet Brick' are back with a seven track album which is even better than their debut album FIREWATER. There is more of a hard rock feel to this than their debut album and what I'm hearing this album will appeal to all rock fans. The open track 'Give It' kicks off this fine release and is my favourite track of the album. Following on are six other tracks including 'Room', ''Pretty' and closing with the excellent 'Over Here Now'. 'Captivating' has been slightly re-worked as I'm sure this song first saw the light on the FIREWATER album but being as I've put that album somewhere safe I can't confirm either way. However it doesn't matter if one of the tracks has been released before because this is simply a cracking release and what more Deanna still has that kick ass voice which makes this band stand out. Jason, Eric and Sean do the business with their instruments and between them they really do deserve to go on to bigger and better things.

Velvet Brick are one of the best rock bands in the world at present and if that isn't enough to tempt you to check this band out I don't know what will?! 9.5/10 Rating

“…strains of Heart, Fleetwood Mac, and Pat Benetar come swiftly to mind as Deanna Marie, vocalist for Velvet Brick starts wailing. It’s nice to hear classic sounds so fresh and updated. I cannot WAIT to see them live!”

"Ear Candy Magazine"

“Hey, this is some down and dirty raw sounding rock ‘n’ roll just like I like and this band has a vocalist that can cut heads with the best of them. This rocks like “Hell Is For Children” era Pat Benatar. They’re starting to get some of the recognition that is obvious they have earned. Just take one listen to “Firewater” and you’ll have to agree. They’re like Pat Benetar, Heart, Mothers Finest and Aerosmith all rolled into one neat little package. I would definitely recommend this to fans of classic rock.”

Bio

What do you get when you pair a top-fuel hard rockin' band at the end of their rope with a sensual chick who can shred most other vocalists on command? VELVET BRICK...a unique combination of unapologetic aggression and endearing passion.

Veterans of the Texas rock scene, this rowdy band boasts a swaggering style reminiscent of early Aerosmith and Guns-n-Roses, layers that with deeply raw and personal lyrics, and then ignites with a powerful and soulful delivery.

Velvet Brick's debut album, FIREWATER, was released in January 2006 to critical acclaim -- garnering attention from the Grammys in 6 categories. They released their sophomore album, BITE DOWN HARD., in November 2007. The band is frequently the No. 1 downloaded album on online distribution site, CDfuse.com and has been the focus of numerous print, internet, TV, and radio features. Always on the road----watch for Deanna and the boys when they hit your town!
