"BOSTON ALT ROCKER VERA KAY RELEASE NEW SINGLES FROM EP, “PINK ROSES”. IN ONE WORD – COMPELLING"

Let’s take a step back and get nostalgic. When I was growing up female fronted bands were bursting onto the airwaves. The 90s were filled with great artists like Tori Amos, Garbage, Belly, Natalie Merchant, Veruca Salt and so many more. Ok I’ll admit I kinda liked Hole until I saw them live. Hole sucks live, be sure to pass up any chance to see them fast! So recently into CPRA comes Vera Kay.

Vera Kay is set to release their debut EP, “Pink Roses” sometime this spring. Personally I’m actually a bit excited for this one to drop. Let’s check out some tracks. Be sure to listen below in the player. The first track, “Pink Roses” is a powerful relationship anthem. The guitar and drums are killer. Rufli’s vocals are quite astonishing. This ballad has a high chance of landing on the major radio waves.

“Comatose”, is up next and a bit slower. I’m not sure how this was accomplished. It could be the producers mixing. It’s almost as if there’s a giant orchestra playing in the background. Again some fantastic drums. They remind of some strange, yet primal orgasmic beat. Anyone with a heart can relate to this song.

“Paradise” is the last of these 3 songs. This song has more of punk almost industrial sound. Think the Pixies with some darker and heavier bass lines. The guitar shreds right into some amazing hooks. The lyrical flow accompanied by the vocals is simply priceless. Seriously somebody get this band up on a label!

Time to wrap up this review. These 3 great songs are just a taste of the rest of the EP. I seriously cannot wait for this one to drop. Keep an eye on this band. I have a feeling there may be some great things in store for them. CPRA will be sure to announce the day this EP is available commercially. - Colorado Punk Rock Army

"Boston-based alternative rock band Vera Kay is ready to burst onto the scene in 2019 with its forthcoming “Pink Roses” EP."

Boston-based alternative rock band Vera Kay is ready to burst onto the scene in 2019 with its forthcoming “Pink Roses” EP.

Led by the distinctive voice of Berklee College of Music student Katherine Rufli, Vera Kay’s sound features raw emotion that fans of bands like Story of the Year and 30 Seconds to Mars will appreciate. This works in tandem with the strong, anthemic power pop sensibilities of Paramore, layered with atmospheric undercurrents for good measure.
The new music was produced by Aaron Sprinkle, whose credits include work with the likes of A New Found Glory and OneRepublic. Title track “Pink Roses,” just released on April 12, is a hard-driving rock tune that presents the band’s pop sensibilities in a dynamic light.

Preceding single “Comatose” is no less powerful than its successor. In fact, its darker tones, moody synth accents, and intricate, pounding rhythms work together to make it even more intense. There’s a certain sense of danger accompanying “Comatose,” and its dramatic soundscapes surely help it to stand out as an early fan favorite. - Underground Music Collective

"Don't Miss Vera Kay's Pink Roses EP This Monday!"

Boston based alternative rock band Vera Kay is set to release their debut EP “Pink Roses” this Monday (May 20th)! The female fronted group is produced by Aaron Sprinkle (One Republic & New Found Glory) and recorded their EP in Nashville, Tennessee. Vera Kay’s music hits hard and fast with the first two guitar driven singles from the upcoming EP putting front-woman Katherine Rufli’s powerful and addictive vocals on full display.

Their songs remind me of the band Dream State, if any of you are fans of that band then be sure to give Vera Kay a listen. The band has been playing shows along the East Coast over the last year and have a tour in the works. Vera Kay’s first two singles from the upcoming EP are full of dynamics, hits, and build ups showing off Rufli’s prolific talents as a songwriter. Listen to the first two singles from Vera Kay’s EP, “Pink Roses” and “Comatose” and be sure to follow them on Spotify so you don’t miss the drop of the full “Pink Roses” EP. I can’t wait to listen to more Vera Kay on Monday! - Musiplug
