Discography

Solid Ground Records lays the foundation for a new era in hip-hop music with a new emcee, Verb Stylo. Based in Fresno California, Solid Ground releases a much needed relief for hip-hop fans everywhere with “Hell or High Water” the debut album from Verb Stylo. Defined, Verb Stylo means, (Verb) action words, (Stylo) a writing pen, in the French language, combined it means “words of action with a written style”.

Verb comes to the forefront with his first hit single “Love and Hate.” Many college & mainstream radio stations from California to Nevada are currently playing Verb Stylo on regular rotation. This is a proper entry for a rapper who truly “wants to get back to the essence of real hip-hop”. Just recently, on July 7th 2003, Monterey Bay’s 97.9 En Fuego mainstream radio station reported that “Love and Hate” claimed the # 1 most requested song slot, bumping hip hop heavyweights Dr. Dre, Obie Trice, and 50 Cent! Also, Verb Stylo is this month’s featured artist on Boom Box Internet Radio which currently has over 3 million listeners worldwide. “Love and Hate” is a true hip hop love story based on Verb’s real experiences. Verb explains his first single as being “a romantic tragedy, with a lesson to be learned”.

Verb sees himself as the proverbial “hole in the dam”, flooding the industry with stunning technique, dynamic delivery and thoughtful songs. Verb Stylo has opened up and on some occasions co-headlined powerhouse performances with some of hip hop’s biggest names like: Ice Cube, Mack 10, Knoc-turn’Al, Dub C, Snoop Dogg, Warren G, Too Short, Bone Thugz ‘N’ Harmony, Smilez & Southstar and many more. Future shows within the next coming months include Monterey Ca. where he will headline, Lindsay Ca. where he will co-headline with Mack 10, Fresno Ca. where he will open for Ashanti and Murder Inc., and a later date also scheduled in Fresno Ca. where he will co-headline with Too Short, Shade Shiest, and 2 Live Crew. Verb Stylo is the future of West Coast hip hop just like Biggie Smalls was for Bad Boy Entertainment and the East Coast. His appearances at radio stations for interviews and meet & greets are accumulating on a constant basis of about two to three new radio stations per month!

Music isn’t the only focus Verb has had as of late; he also made his cinematic debut in “Stage Pass”, a DVD documenting the events that happen backstage at hip hop concerts. The DVD Stars E-40 and Too Short among other of hip hops heavy hitters.

Bio

Verb Stylo
Age: 24
Birthplace: El Paso, Texas

With his dynamic delivery, witty word play, and bass baritone pipe, Verb Stylo is poised to become one of today’s newest Rap Super Stars.
Verb Stylo grew up all over California, making stops in Oakland, Los Angeles, and eventually, settling in Fresno. Now hailing from the Central Valley, he is re-drawing the Rap map by simultaneously giving lyrical nourishment for the mind while leaving an undeniable mark on California dance floors.
Before getting signed to Solid Ground Records, Verb Stylo was an avid hip hop fan that would listen to countless hours of music’s best offerings. This relentless approach has helped to deliver his spectacular debut album… “Hell or High Water.”
Ever since he can remember, Verb Stylo has always been a music lover. “I still remember my mom cleaning up while she played all the old school classics” says Verb. Rhyming isn’t the only way Verb’s incredible talent is heard either, he has produced many of the tracks on “Hell or High Water!” “He’s a genius with the pen,” says fellow R&B singer Sergyo. “Verb Stylo is like no other artist I’ve seen for a minute. When I think of Verb Stylo, I think of a cleverly mixed Biggie Smalls and Xzibit sound; it is then that I begin to understand. This cat is the complete package!” Always a showman, his success on stages all throughout California is undeniable. His rapidly growing fan base will all agree that Verb Stylo has been up-staging many of today’s hottest rappers in their own shows! This becomes more evident that during live shows, his uncanny performance brings so much excitement and energy, that it is nearly impossible to translate.
Although it is fact now, during their respective heydays: Rakim, KRS-ONE, and Grandmaster Flash, were all destined to become Hip Hop icons. Later, so were The Notorious B.I.G and Tupac Shakur, all of whom have been Verb Stylo’s greatest influences. However, in today’s complex rhyme styles and intricate topics, there is a DEMAND for an emcee that is able to stand on his own merit, minus the usual formulas and gimmicks.
Verb Stylo proves to be THAT emcee through unmatched lyrical mastery and conceptual genius. We at SOLID GROUND RECORDS invite you into the mind of a genius, history in the making… VERB STYLO ”Coming to some speakers near you!”
