Verb The Adjective Noun

Verb The Adjective Noun

The raw energy that emanates from the sounds of Verb The Adjective Noun reflects that of its city of origin, Boston, melding old school punk energy with effortless meandering guitar riffs of folk rock. The innovative sound that defines Verb The Adjective Noun is rooted in the song structure; their songs open with melodic, nondescript chords and culminate into layers of unrestricted instrumentals, grainy vocals and bursting crescendos. After relocating from the East Coast to L.A. and barreling through a cross-country tour in a blue veggie-oil powered school bus, the band has truly grown into itself. The hallowed tracks of their debut EP, Novella were recorded in a church in the summer of 2008; followed up by a more centered sophomore EP, Reds, on which resides the stand-out power-pop tune “Madeline”. With an upcoming tour and unwavering passion for their music, the horizon looks promising for these five troubadours.

I move real slow down the hallway
Mother's yellin' at me and the kids
It's so tiring to move this slow
So disheartening to be this low
When you're screaming at the whole wide world, and no one knows
It's not my home, it never has been
I did not grow up in that place
But my family, they still pushin'
Oh they still know my name
I could be gone for years but i'm still welcome in their abode

So darlin' don't cry we're gonna figure it out tonight

Further up north where it's colder
And the wind blows angrier
I've got my own i keep pushing
Through conversation to find the truth
When you look that hard you forget what's laying right at your shoes

So darlin' don't cry we're gonna figure it out tonight

When the wind does stop and the sun comes down, forget about the light, forget about this town
Listen to the world through a stethoscope, and you'll find out where not to go
But til then

So darlin' don't cry we're gonna figure it out tonight
