Verdigrls

Making loneliness an art since the summer of 2012, Connecticut's Verdigrls (formerly known as Velveteens) are a young and deeply unconventional band who set out to form their musical identities. Sisters Anna and Catherine Wolk are both classically trained in violin and cello respectively. Catherines obsessions with 60's girl groups and Morrissey with sprinkled elements of The Raincoats, along with Annas strong background in classical theory and both their fascination with electronic music have come together to make something slightly odd and idiosyncratic. Along with their poetic lyricism, haunting harmonies and unusual instrumentation, they form a captivating sound.
