Bio

"With her beautiful voice and terrific melodic sensibility, Veronica Meza is also a writer of intelligent, sensitive and poetic words."-Blair Packham (Singer/Songwriter, producer, co-host “Rock Talk” CFRB News talk Radio 1010)

“Veronica is an awesome and outgoing artist which helps when it comes to working in the studio…. a perfectionist. The sky is the limit for Veronica, her career can go as far as she wants it to go".
-Grammy Award -Winning Producer Brian “Red” Moore

Canadian songwriter and independent artist, Veronica Meza, will soon be releasing her debut EP entitled “Consolation”, which marks her first release within the mainstream English Pop market. “Consolation” contains three pop-heavy, radio-friendly songs that were entirely written, arranged and produced by Veronica and demonstrates her passion and strength as a songwriter within the Pop genre. “Secretly”, the first single off of the EP, is a power-pop ballad that can be sonically likened to songs by Aerosmith, fellow Canadian acts, Hedley and Avril Lavigne. “Consolation”, the follow-up single, is an up-tempo, Ska-infused dance track which surprisingly, amidst the heavy use of electronic sounds found in pop music today, was recorded with real musicians and instruments, a feature which makes the EP musically organic sounding.
“I’m so happy that I was able to work with so many talented Canadian musicians on this project, including notable industry experts such as Brad Klump (Madonna) and mixing engineer/producer Chris Anderson (Justin Bieber, Julie Black), as well as Sam Ibbet (Avril Lavigne, Barenaked Ladies). It was a dream come true and I hope that Canada and the rest of the world will embrace it.”

Born in the bustling and sunny city of San Miguel, El Salvador and raised in the multicultural city of Toronto, Ontario, Veronica grew up listening to a mosaic of sounds ranging from the music of Mexican Legend, Pedro Infante to the Beatles, to the Legendary Celia Cruz to the Iconic Michael Jackson. Undoubtedly, her exposure to both Latin and American Popular music had a tremendous influence on her musical upbringing and identity.
“Although singing Latin music is how I began my career and will most likely never abandon it, I’ve always had passion for Pop music. The “Consolation” EP represents the fun, care-free side of me, all the while showcasing my ability as a songwriter within the pop genre and I hope the fans will embrace it as much as they’ve embraced my previous works in Spanish”.

Having developed a strong musical sense and ear for Pop music in both Spanish and English markets, Veronica Meza has undoubtedly proven that she is a strong performer and a versatile songwriter who is capable of succeeding in both markets.

Her first independent release as a Latin artist, “Amor Como El Mio (Love Like Mine)” (released in 2009) was penned by herself and produced by Grammy-Award winning Producer Abraham Quintanilla (father and manager of Late Tejano superstar, Selena). Her debut single marked her acceptance into the Tejano Music Industry both online and off, garnering many radio and television interviews such as a spot on the FOX 29 San Antonio Morning News and the “Domingo Live Show” in Corpus, Christi, TX. In addition, Veronica was also invited to perform for thousands at the Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair and as a guest presenter at the Tejano Music Awards Show in San Antonio, TX.

As for her career goals, Veronica hopes to establish herself as both a versatile songwriter, as well as an artist within both the English and Hispanic sectors of the music industry. A recent graduate of the Bachelor of Music Degree program from Humber College in Toronto, Veronica continues to establish herself as a working professional by lending her voice to various projects, from commercials, to independent recordings, to performing with various Latin bands. As Grammy-Award winning producer Brian Red Moore stated, “The sky is the limit for Veronica. She can go as far as she wants it to go”.
