Havin' It My Way

Feeling a bit camera shy

You might not come across too many people that have had the pleasure of seeing a Versatile performance. For those who have seen them in action will tell you that this rap duo most definitely has a future in the music industry.

Natives of Houston, TX, C-Talent and Archer Pain have been together for seven years now, developing a unique array of talent and performance unlike any other you would expect to see coming from the South. The two came together from separate groups. Groups that they felt didn't have the same love for the music as they did. Eventually the two would meet and decide to write a song together. That one song became two songs, and the rest became seven years of history.

Versatile's subject matter varies from epic tales of street life, to sensual stories of women, to anthems of merriment. C-talent and Archer Pain's rhetoric rhyme schemes vary as well. Their lyrics seem compliment the tracks that are mostly produced by C-Talent.

These two are no strangers to the stage. They have placed in many talent shows and have performed in many places stretching from Louisiana to California. Some include: Six Flags Astroworld in Houston, TX, the annual watermelon thump in Luling, TX, and the Keenan Ivory Wayans Show in Los Angeles, CA.

After a performance one night in Houston, earlier in their career, an A&R representative from Houston's Rap-A-Lot Records approach to two to arrange a meeting a later date. At that meeting the A&R representative listened and watched them perform more songs before informing them that they were "marketable". From that meeting, the A&R rep gave them a run down on how the music industry work, and then challenged the group to write a song that will make them.

Now, after years of silence, Versatile has set out to break the silence with their first single "It's Going Down". "It's Going Down is like a pledge to the East and West that it is happening out here, and the south will rise to it's well earned recognition!" explains Archer Pain.

C-Talent and Archer Pain have incredible chemistry. Together they have a vibe that can be felt by all walks of life, and a stage performance that is guaranteed to keep your attention.
