Biography

When Vertigo Jazz Project formed in the summer of 2007, they're primary objective was to create great music. With the highest of commitment levels, VJP devoted their time to the practice room for 4 months before hitting the stage. When they performed for the first time, the sound engineer said "I had no idea that you guys were going to be great, Thank You!". They've been receiving the same compliment from every show since then.

Vertigo Jazz Project is fronted by Preston Cate on guitar. He's the primary composer and soloist. When asked about playing with VJP, Preston said "I love playing with PJ and Sean! They make my job extremely challenging and very easy at the same time.". Preston has played the major music festivals in Jazz, Classical and Bluegrass (Bluegrass?). His primary focus is on instrumental music in a modern jazz setting. Preston has 7 CD's under his belt including his score to the feature film "Fern Hill".

Vertigo Jazz Project's music is Jazz, Latin, Groove, Funk, World, etc. It has become a melting pot of all the great music in the last century. VJP has developed their own style and own sound. It's truly original, refreshing and meaningful.
