Bio

An innovative record producer and thought provoking lyricist, Vesuveo brings a raw honesty, passion, and social consciousness rarely heard in today's hip-hop. His dynamic new solo debut Shine challenges the boundaries of hip-hop while establishing Vesuveo as one of its rising stars. Chuck D of Public Enemy calls it "a great record."

The first single "Algiers Point" features Evelyn Harris of Grammy-winning Black acapella group Sweet Honey In The Rock. He wrote the song after reading an article in The Nation magazine that exposed unsolved race hate crimes in New Orleans after Katrina, which have yet to bring a conviction.

Currently performing live with a 5-piece band, he's shared the stage with Black Eyed Peas, KRS-One, Biz Markie, and Rock Steady Crew while rocking shows at SXSW, House of Blues, Joe's Pub, Nuyorican Poet's Cafe, The Roxy, El Rey, Knitting Factory, and Key Club.

A native New Yorker, Vesuveo rose up through the Los Angeles underground and burst on the scene in the late 90s with his critically acclaimed group The Anonymous whose Top 10 hit "Green and Gold" featuring Eminem remains an underground classic. Since then, he's rapped and produced on a slew of ground-breaking records by some of hip-hop's brightest stars including Cut Chemist, Mystic, Dilated Peoples, Medusa, Maya Azucena, Northern State, The Grouch, and Awol One.

Today, his music is the soundtrack to some of the most popular shows on television including Pimp My Ride, Cribs, The Real World, Wimbledon, and America's Next Top Model.
