Scandinavian five piece getting ready to put out 3rd full length album in February 2011.

Ok, so maybe you have never heard of VETO? A Brief explanation would include the facts that Veto are a 5 piece band from Aarhus & Copenhagen in Denmark and their music elegantly mixes together progressive rock and modern electronica, soaring melodies, bleeps, clicks and pounding live rhythms.

Now, less fact and more opinion. VETO play a unique brand of propulsive alternative rock, blending edgy guitars, thunderous drums and vast, electronic textures. All of which may just sound like words on a piece of paper but much like fellow countryman Lars Von Trier (director of ‘Dancer in the Dark’ ft Bjork, and co-creator of Dogme95 style), the band mix together beauty, melancholy, a sharp wit and an understanding of the dark side(s) in life. Think twisted, dark, melodic and rhythmical rock with modern contempories including Hot Chip, Klaxons, Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Bjork and Pendulum.

VETO's There’s A Beat In All Machines’ was released independently in Denmark only in 2006 and achieved gold sales status plus wide critical acclaim. Nominations for a record breaking 7 Danish Music “Grammys” followed, winning 2 (Best New Act, Best Video), the Best Album & Best New Act at 2007 Zulu Awards, 3 Steppeluv Critics awards for best band, best live & best new act AND they were voted No1 band & No1 album of 2006 by the biggest Danish music mag, GAFFA ( the Scandinavian equivalent of the NME). The band have also topped Danish video charts for 5 consecutive weeks with both the ?rst 2 singles on the album, played over 150 shows nationally & internationally, including key supports with The Killers & Smashing Pumpkins.

VETO played ROSKILDE FESTIVAL in 2008 to 20k fans and played to over 150k people over 8 events, headlining stage 2 of the Green Concerts tour 2007. Following all of this, the band were signed by Sony Music.

Their second album Crushing Digits was released internationally i May 2008 through Sony Music. The album was greatly received by music critics and sparked placed the band as the most award winning act in Denmark that year, taking home no less than 4 Gaffa Awards (Band Of The Year, Male Singer Of The Year (Troels Abrahamsen), Album Of The Year ("Crushing Digits"), Hit Of The Year ("You Say Yes, I Say Yes")), the prestigious P3 prize (the Danish equivalent of Radio 1) and Electronic Album Of The Year by The Sydney Morning Herald.

Following the release of Crushing Digits the band toured most of Europe during 2008 and 2009 doing both club dates and key festivals in the market.

In February VETO will release their 3rd album with the working title Everything Is Electrified through Sony Music.
