Bio

Only a proud nation like the Dominican Republic could be the birthplace of a force like Vetto Casado. In his hometown of Santo Domingo, Vetto was embedded with a rich culture distinct in customs, food, and music. The music was the last huge mark left on him as his family left their homeland.

By age 5, the Casado family had re-rooted itself in Chelsea, MA. Here Vetto got his education in a new environment. The dichotomy of school and the school of hard-knocks usually best rounds an individual. The individual who sees the facts of books versus the facts of life gains a sense of what is real. The truth of the American dream is the hustle behind it. Living in the often overlooked shadows of Boston means you have to know the dark corners and light your own path out.

The light for Vetto was music. Familiar with the flavors of the Dominican Republic, he could not help but be ensnared by the rhythms and messages of hip-hop. The tales echoed the drama in the lives around him. The music soundtracked the scenes of the streets here and the ones he lived in trips back his hood in DR. The melting pot of the US was true in one sense, and that was music. In Chelsea you could sit on a porch for half an hour and hear Soul, Rap, Salsa, and Reggae blasting from cars. The reggae, the hip hop, bachata, salsa, and others all blended into his style.

In Chelsea, Vetto met up with a distant cousin and together they formed a hip-hop duo. Vetto was more of a producer than an emcee, because he knew more about producing at the time. Together they formed "PVS", and recorded some tracks. Then his cousin joined an 'urban youth in media' program and began getting into the technical side of making music while Vetto put more time into his flow and pen work.

For the last 6 years, Vetto has been growing as an artist. His style encompasses everything that he grew up with and the result is a versatility not seen in most emcees today. He effortlessly switches between flowing in Spanish and English and from track to track you don’t know if he will hit you with hip-hop or reggaeton or some blend yet untitled.

Unable to have the luxury of writing full-time, he still pens out hits while working night jobs. Vetto has even ventured into higher education doing a year at Sam State. Now with Precize Productions he is leaning more to nurturing his gift. He puts his whole self into his work, whether it be his club side, his political side, the working man, or his national pride. Vetto Casado is the next generation of those born to profess into a microphone. For now it is only a matter of time and opportunity.
