"Vexx P Interview"

VEXX P from Virginia Beach, VA

Q. How did the project come into existence?

Vexx P is my best friend, my inner conscience. Before music, there was my diary and inner thoughts. Then those thoughts turned into a coping method, then into a fix, then in a hobby. With my competitive nature, it quickly turned into a competition but now it's a business.

Q.Who are the members of the band if any and please tell us about it?

Kash$krilla Entertainment, my independent label, consists of myself, Nixe Escapade, Popi Blakk, and LOW.

Q How would you describe your sound/genre?

Top-South Flow. Marching Band style. My beats gotta sound like something a band would march to. Sound that’ll make 80,000 people move in a stadium. Heavy bass, heavy brass, sometime piano. My sound is a 50/50 split between mid-east coast and the deep south filled with real topics.

Q. What formal training or previous experience do any of the members have?

None. This is my life. "Practice?! We Talkin bout Practice?!?"

Q. Are you working w/ a producer on your upcoming album?

Nah. Just me, myself, and Vexx.

Q. Who would you say has been the biggest influence on the bands sound or that you have used as inspiration for your music?

Tupac. He taught me how to put words together, how to spit words from my gut, and how to touch real life subjects.

Q.What advice would you give to others starting out?

1. Stay Consistent - Stay the same, don't change your style up for money and keep coming out with the same amount of songs every year. Stay relevant.

2. Worry About Your Own Camp. Don't worry about what's going on outside yours.

3. Set Your Own Trends - Come from your heart with the music.

4. Everything That Glitter, Aint Gold - KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN

Q. Where can people go to learn more about you and hear your music?

YouTube. Twitter. FaceBook. Myxer. Reverb. Jango. Just Google "Vexx P" and you'll get everything.

Q. If you could play anywhere in the world or with anyone you wanted where and who would it be with?

I would want to go to Jackson, Mississippi and perform at Mississippi Memorial Stadium in front of 70,000 HBCU fans at a game with the Sonic Boom of the South vs Southern, Grambling, or Alcorn. I'd have to shoot a video that day.

Q. What has been your greatest experience so far either individually or as a whole?

I started my own independent company in 2008, Kash$krilla Entertainment. I'm also proud to say I've written and produced over 400 songs.

Q. Do you have any upcoming events or news you would like to tell our readers about?

Yeah. Volume 4, TIMEZONES, drops sometime in April with 18 new exclusives. It's GAMETIME.

Q. Where do you see yourselves or hope to be in about 5 years?

In the next 5 years, I see the chess game picking up with the music industry. - AJ & DBS

Bio

"Im a ripper, not a rapper." - Vexx P

757's own Vexx P surfaced the music scene in 2008 with the establishment of his own independent music label, KashSkrilla Entertainement. With over 12 years of writing and preparation, he is more ready than ever to kick the door of opportunity off the hinges. When asked how he would describe himself as an artist, he simply replies, "Virginia." A native of VA, bouncing from city to city, Vexx P spent most his time between Virginia Beach's Bayside zone, and Portsmouth's Cavalier Manor neighborhoods. The artist's sound is a mixture of Top-South Flow with a Marching Band style which he inherited in the deep south of Jackson, MS in his youth days watching Jackson's own "Sonic Boom." His beats sound like something a band would march to and his hits are sure to make 80,000 people move in a stadium. Heavy bass, heavy brass, and sometime piano are a perfect combination.

Vexx P came to do exactly what his name says, shake the game up. He also believes, "Pac sent me and I'm so unpredictable. I dont even know whats next. I got various styles. I'm southern rooted. My music is what I live or either seen with my own eyes. My mixtapes are novels." His delivery, rawness, and honesty have made him an internet phenom. With over 20,000 ringtone and mixtape downloads in one year, Vexx P's time is surely coming in the NEAR future.

His discography includes the debut album, DEFINITION OF VEXX vol. 1 released in November of the founding year. His sophomore LP, SHOW EM HOW TO BALL vol. 2, came out the following summer in 2009 and catapulted his growing fan base across the nation. MARATHON vol. 3, released in March of 2010, was a featured project with KashSkrilla artist, P Blakk. It was heavily distributed throughout the east coast and was available for downloads on various music websites such as DatPiff and Myxer. TIMEZONES vol. 4, released in Summer of 2011, boasts heavy marching band beats with substantial lyrics.

Vexx P fans will be very impressed with his latest project, DA MONKEY KLICK, only the second collaboration record of his career. With this album, Vexx P delivers an array of hard bass lines and "Juke Music". But Vol. 5 also brings an intense repertoire of the lyricist's deepest thoughts. Virginia got alot to talk about.

Be on the lookout for Vexx P's new HOT single "Money On My Mind"!! Available for download on iTunes!! It's the ANTHEM OF THE YEAR!!
