V For Escargot

V For Escargot truly is one of the hottest bands out of Montreal. They are an indie Rock band that was officially formed in September of 2011. All members had been playing together and/or separately for about 10 years when in 2011, now lead singer and rhythm guitarist Philippe Petit, decided to put together a more serious project.V For Escargot was the product of this union. After a year of songwriting and sound searching, the ”Fullum,Holt” sound was born. With influences ranging from The Cure, The Beatles, Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, Grizzly bear, The XX, The Pixies and many more, their unique sound is most certainly one to discover! - behindthemusic.ca

Il est où le V dans Escargot? Peu importe. Le single His Father’s Father intrigue : guitares pimpantes, mélodie fine, voix masculine chevrotante appuyée par féminine plus limpide qu’elle. On écoute aujourd’hui en parallèle avec le nouveau Modest Mouse. Les rapprochements m’agacent en général, mais dans ce cas-ci, ils sont flatteurs.
