Bio

Via Verde delivers an exceptionally catchy brand of Alternative Rock with moments of heaviness and an overall message of love. Their debut E.P., No Greater Love, abounds with deliciously memorable songs bringing to mind the brightest moments of bands like 30 Seconds to Mars, Thrice and Muse.

There is musical passion, ambient guitar riffs, and soulful lyrics throughout the band's music, led by vocalist/guitarist Sam Moreno alongside band mates Josh Price, guitar, Matt Maloun, bass, and backed by the solid timekeeping of Will Salgado, drums.

The young band has created an EP that was a long time coming. No Greater Love is one of the strongest debuts in recent memory, from a band whose story is just beginning to unfold.

"Embracing the Call" references a time when the group had to make the decision to live for themselves or live for Christ. "It is about living for the eternal," Moreno explains. "It is a key track for us being that we all had to make that decision, not because we were forced to, but because it was what we were called to do." Meanwhile, a track like "No Greater Love" continues with the overall theme of unconditional love and forgiveness.

An early incarnation of the band came through in demo tracks after Moreno's previous band, Transistor Radio, disbanded in early 2008. Several demos later Moreno contacted his current band mates and invited them to rehearse. After some prayer, the current line up decided to go into the studio late fall of 2011. "We decided we were all on the same page and had the same vision," Price recalls.

The band was already able to establish a local following in Southern California before release of EP. Through summer festivals, touring, and sharing stages with bands like Wavorly, Classic Crime, and The City Harmonic they continue to build a grassroots following. Being their first self-financed and self-released EP, No Greater Love is bound to catch attention in the industry.

No Greater Love is the type of debut that can only be crafted by a group committed to their a musical vision, to each other, and to letting the world know that Christ is the reason they are who they are.
