Biography

Vibe Merchant started in 2007 with original members Haitian born leadsinger Eder Charles and Jersey native keyboardist/guitarist Chris Mooney . Blending the inspired songwriting of Marley and Springsteen, mixed with the funk of Stevie Wonder and the Chili Peppers the band started out as an urban/ folk acoustic duo in coffeehouses, bars and bookstores across NJ. In 2009, the band decided to add the boogie down backbeat section of Steve Capecci on bass and Paul Finbow on drums and percussion to add a new dimension to their songs. The band has been a mainstay on the East coast festival and bar cicuit ever since, playing venues from Maplewoodstock 2011 and 2013, the NYC West Side Sunday Series, the Celebrate South Orange Series, the Stone Pony and Langosta Lounge in Asbury Park ,the legendary Priory in Newark, NJ, Cecil Brook's Jazz Club in West Orange as well as headlining the Banding Together For Haiti Benefit Concert in Orange, NJ and opening the Union County Music Festival in September 2010. Their songs 'Southern Fried Chicken' and 'Rise' have been selected as songs of the day for FM102x radio.
