Immediately enticing, “Keep Serving” appeals to listeners with its introductory sixteenth note, consistent guitar riffs and supportive, strong percussion. Initially and consistently driving the track is the uniquely performed, eclectic drum kit beat. Whether it’s the mixture of hi-hat strikes, flavorful bass drum hits, or consistent snare drum hits, the drumming evokes a sense of ominous and eerie environment with a hint of drive. Without the addition of the defining drumming, “Keep Serving” wouldn’t hold a semblance of power and dominance that it does. Additionally, the guitar riffs add a sense of consistency, but too fuel this driving the nature. With the striking consistency and repetition found within the guitar riffs creates a nice balance. While the drums paradoxically keep listeners on their toes, the guitar performance unequivocally reduces too much shock, maintaining a great balance between surprise and consistency. However, the dark tones continue to contribute to the ominous nature, as strong emotionally as the vocals exude.
While the instrumentation carries the song heavily, the arrangement shifts dynamically once the vocals emerge. Drifting into a realm of serenity and soothing nature, Virena rises above any darkness and presents listeners with a vehement sense of tranquility, expressing her incredible range strongly. Her voice has a distinctive tone to it that easily captivates listeners. Though sometimes singers attempt to overpower the instrumentation and falsify their range in doing so, Virena demonstrates her invaluable control over her wide range, thoroughly. Even as the song transitions into its coda, Virena captures the emotion of the song entirely with the lingering high note she peaks at, displaying her remarkable range and vocal ability.
As a whole, the arrangement is quite extraordinary, seemingly flawless. “Keep Serving” displays the ability Vicava has for maintaing a balanced atmosphere and creating an emotionally connective composition, while continuing to captivate listeners’ attention and seemingly never play too forceful or overpowering. Indicative of the future in store for Vicava, “Keep Serving” catalyzes the foreseeable burgeoning potential the duo possesses for prosperity.
