""From the Outside" CD Review"

"Victoria Celestine - In the World"

“Let me introduce you to Victoria Celestine. She’s 15 years old, and can play the piano and guitar. Did I mention her voice is simply wonderful? She sounds mature in her voice and the message in her latest single, In The World, shows that. I may not be the right person to post this song considering my gender, because the message is you don’t have to be the prettiest girl in the world, and it’s all about personality. You don’t have to be a girl to post girl music! This reminds me of a slower, piano-ized version of Jason Mraz’s “Im Yours,” which is a good thing.

"Victoria Celestine Leads Tomorrow's Music Scene"

“You may have heard of 15-year-old Victoria Celestine. When she was 14 she recorded few tracks with producer Gordon Raphael(The Strokes) . Now she's released her first full-fledged album of mostly original songs (except for a wonderful, minimalist version of "La Vie En Rose" and "Love Me Tender" ), this time produced by Jacob Sciba in Austin. It is easy to see what attracted Raphael in the first place — she has a magical voice that sounds like Norah Jones on chamomile tea, and a songwriting talent rarely found in teenagers. ”

""From the Outside" CD Review"

“From The Outside displays a song writing maturity beyond her years (think Diane Birch) and she has a vocal style that marries Norah Jones, Marilyn Monroe and X Factor semi finalist Diana Vickers. For those impressed by Vickers ability, this is probably the album she should have made before finding theatrical success. ***

""From the Outside" CD Review"

“Smoothly drifting in with 'In The Headlights', a country tinged number that also shows possibly some inspiration and influence from the likes of Regina Spektor and Norah Jones amongst other notable female vocalists, allows enough Celestine originality to shine through so brightly, with some dreamy vocal passages on 'Soul Searching' coming over so admirably it's difficult to think this lady is a mere fifteen years of age. 'Run' jigs along with all its country-tinted swagger inside the delicious Celestine vocal performance while 'Uh Oh' shows off her commercial side ala the aforementioned Spektor with the inclusion of varied instrumentation, and that inspiration flows delicately into 'In The World (Be Yourself)', a beautifully crafted tune with its dream-esque progressions and retro slanted musical arrangements. As the album progresses and opens up so perfectly, Miss Celestine broadens her musical wings widely covering all genres and musical aspects so grandly, ......”

Bio

Victoria Celestine picked up the guitar at age 13 with Bobby Flores, at his Bulverde Academy of Music, and began writing songs the following summer (2010). Gordon Raphael, (producer- Regina Spektor, the Strokes) caught her singing during the next Christmas holidays , and invited her to record her first 7 songs acoustically. The following April, she recorded her debut album at 14, “From the Outside”,with Jacob Sciba, at Pedernales Studios, in Austin, TX. She received   2nd place (teen category) from the International Songwriting Competition for the song “In The World”, as well as Honorable Mention for the song “From the Outside”(performance category).
Her first music video (of the song “In the World”), has been distributed by Pulse Records to 8000 retailers, (including Sam’s Club). The same song caught the attention of Video Star, who featured it on their popular app for iphone/ipad in Jan.2013 which propped her #42 on USA iTunes Music chart. She received again the 2ndplace (teen category) prize from the ISC 2012 with the song Drift Away. In March 2013, she released her latest album yet, “Back Home in San Antone”. Her single “Homework” won 2nd place in the International Acoustic Music Awards AAA/Alternative Category.
Victoria has been learning Sound Engineering and do most her demo by herself; she has been recording and producing lately with Blake Harnage (and co-writing with Sierra Kay) from Versa and will be releasing those songs early 2015
