Vicious Attack packs an incredible amount of destruction into its four-song EP, Blade Of The Reaper. “Vicious Attack” and the title track borrow heavily from Reign In Blood-era Slayer with David Correa’s clipped, staccato cadence closely mimicking Tom Araya, as rolling drum fills and insistent snare blasts anchor palm-muted, lightning riffing. A sliver of metallic-hardcore seeps in with shouted gang vocals highlighting the bloody carnage in “Infestation,” but VA’s primary purpose is to bludgeon you into submission with an unrelenting thrash assault. Mission accomplished, boys.

Bio
Formed in 2007, the founding member members of Vicious Attack had one goal: to be the heaviest, fastest Thrash Metal band around. While the scene was being overrun with ’retro Thrash’ acts who sought to emulate the sounds of the 80's, the five members of VA took a different approach. They took their que from heavier groups like Demolition Hammer, Slayer and The Crown. This naturally lead to a sound that was far darker and faster than most of their contemporaries. As a result the band quickly grew in popularity, playing festivals like Klash of the Thrash and Midwest Metal Anthem. They were a popular pick to open for touring acts and had the opportunity to share the stage with bands like DRI, MOD, Havok, Exmortus, Jungle Rot, and many others.
In 2009 the band recorded their Blade of the Reaper EP with Bob Pop at Gunpoint Studios. The disc quickly garnered rave reviews, and The Illinois Entertainer compared the band's style and speed to that of the mighty Slayer. At this point Vicious Attack began expanding their territory, playing shows in several neighboring states.
In 2011 founding vocalist David Correa stepped down, handing the mic over to Cecilia Marie. Her deathly growls added a new dimension to the band's sound. Vicious Attack recorded a self titled EP in 2013 with producer Dan Klein at Iron Hand Audio. During this time the band had the opportunity to headline the Queen's of Metal festival and also opened for Belphagor and Kataklysm.
Cecilia left the band in 2015. After an extended search, the band announced in early 2018 the addition of Alex Rodriguez on vocals. Alex's style is the perfect fit for the band. His vocal range and stage presence have helped Vicious Attack form their strongest lineup to date.
Vicious Attack is about to release a two track demo, which will show the world that they are still firing on all cylinders and have lost none of their speed. They will be playing shows throughout the Midwest in the coming months. Any labels interested in helping the band with future releases, or bands interested in collaborating in a split release are advised to get in contact as soon as possible.
