Bio

The roots of Texas based Vicious South began in 2002 when Craig Mclendon (ex “Manglers”) and G.J. Ainsworth (ex “Southern Bastard Revival”) began collaborating and writing their own unique style of southern rock/metal southcore. Soon after, drummer Keven Harrison joined the band. Roger Augustine then stepped in to handle lead vocal and guitar duties upon his departure from the band "Dirt" (EMI/2Ksounds) in 2003 adding his unique playing and vocal style to the mix. Roger Augustine and Michael Lee Tisman (ex "Dzeray") had done some collaborating from 1989 to 1992 but soon after lost touch with each other. In 2003 when they contacted each other again, VICIOUS SOUTH was in the process of trying to replace Keven Harrison and shortly thereafter Michael Tisman became the final member of the band. This completed the unique listening and performance experience known as VICIOUS SOUTH.

All members of the band have been active in the Houston music scene for several years and have already gained a following of fans eager to hear something new with an unforgettable groove. The VICIOUS SOUTH fan base has been steadily growing at every show, which includes those familiar with previous projects the members have been involved with, as well as brand new fans that have come across the CD from other fans or the internet, from age 15 to 60. In addition to airplay on Houston's 90.1 KPFT and South Florida’s WFKZ Sun 103.1, this has led to fans asking for their own copies before the band has hit the stage.

All 4 members of VICIOUS SOUTH have numerous years of writing, studio and live performance experience, which is evident at their live shows in addition to their 5-song demo SOUTHERN HELLRIDE VOLUME 1. Always adding new material, VICIOUS SOUTH has been playing dates in the Houston area and currently negotiating dates in Austin, Dallas and Louisiana.

Having just completed the shooting of their part in Mancusu Productions' "The Refinery: A Documentary of North American Metal", VICIOUS SOUTH will be going in the studio to record SOUTHERN HELLRIDE VOLUME II, which will be available July 2005.
