"Grapevine review.."

This is a great album. The mellow openers are nice, and these are followed by a mix of hits and rockers.
The band band is at their best in the acoustic ''Gold'' and the album itself deserves some gold to. - Grapevine magazine

"One of the best under the radar....."

Vicky – Cast a Light (Vicky Music)
I only caught part of one of this Icelandic quartet's Airwaves shows, but it was long enough to hear what is now one of my favorite songs of the year: "How Do You Feel?", rusted-glam seduction with striking hints of Johnny Thunders' grinding fuzz and Siouxsie Sioux's vocal voodoo in guitarist Karlotta Halldórsdóttir's blackened crunch and singer Eygló Scheving's plaintive cry. The rest of Cast a Light, made and released independently by the band, is just as tough and alluring and worth the hunt. You can start at iTunes.

- Rolling Stone magazine

"Amazing! - Aldrei fór ég suður"

"Not appearing at Aldrei fór ég suður this year (most bands aren't permitted to play two years running) but, having met the girls (and one guy) recording their album at the converted fish-oil storage studios of The Tank in Önundarfjörður, we had to mention them for both their surprisingly Anglophile name and the fact they sound like CSS covering Public Image Ltd. We think London will love them. No, but yeah, but no, etc." - 4 Music

"The look is tricky for Vicky"

" The five-piece look like being the biggest music sensation to come out of Iceland since BJÖRK" - The Sun

"Vicky Pollard"

"Many of you might know Vicky Pollard only as the obnoxious teenage girl in Little Britain. However five young icelanders have now applied this name to their band, which was formed in november last year. Consisting of four girls and a guy banging the drums, this band is rapidly making a name for themselves with loud and fun live shows, and apparently they are already recording their first album, though I don't think they have a label yet.

I recommend streaming "Tender Demand" from their Myspace page, or take a listen to "The Plan" below. I'm optimistic that this band will be doing some great things pretty soon." - Indie MP3

Bio

When you surround these three females around their thunderous drummer, you can be sure to get a live performance of a lifetime. Their eclectic mix of melodic punk-rock, dubbed pop-metal by Pitchforkmedia, is a one of a kind blend hailing from a the harsh environs of Iceland.

Vicky has been honing their live shows for the last five years, playing in absolutely every nook and cranny location in their home country. Having taken the Icelandic live scene by storm they gained attention abroad playing the biggest rock festival in China as well as being invited multiple times to the States, playing for rock hungry live crowds in New York and St.Louis. Their reputation as a live act has spread throughout North America as they lined up to rock the Canadian Music Fest in 2010.

Not only content with playing their songs live, they got rave reviews for their debut album, Pull Hard. Singles from their debut album got amazing airplay with their song Blizzard being in X 9.77 Fm's Top Ten list of the greatest songs of 2008. Then with their second album "Cast A Light" came out in October 2011 the first single "Feel Good" had already been in the top 5 battle the Rock charts for 11 weeks consecutive, and at the top for 3 weeks. With prestigious rock press support, with Kerrang! Magazine giving them four K's for their performance at Iceland's biggest music festival, and dedicated support from their die-hard fans, Vicky leaves nothing to be desired.

It's melodic punk clad in leather, sometimes sporting a mohawk, sometimes with bleached hair. But it's always ready to lay down riffs in sync with their pile driving drums, leaving the audience screaming for more.
