Bio
Victoria Banks is a born songwriter. As an award-winning professional writer for other contemporary country artists, Victoria has had music placed in TV and movies, toured as a backup singer and acoustic guitar player for major label artists such as Pam Tillis, Rachel Proctor and Crystal Shawanda, and seen her songs climb the Billboard Country charts. But you haven't truly heard the heart of her songs until you've heard her perform them herself.
Raised in Muskoka, Canada on antique cylinder records and classical piano and voice lessons, Victoria completed a B.Sc. in Zoology at the University of Toronto, discovered modern music and taught herself guitar before moving to Nashville in 1997 with a pocketful of tip jar money from her acoustic gigs. After a winter of pinching pennies and writing songs with her mittens on in a frosty bedroom, she put her last $20 in the gas tank and drove downtown to sign her first publishing deal.
Since then, she's won the Unisong and USA Songwriting Competitions, an ASCAP Country Music Award, and a SOCAN International Achievement Award, and has released her own independent album titled "You Don't Know Me". She has shared the stage with Jamie O'Neal, Billy Kerrington, and the supergroup Alabama, and has performed countless acoustic shows in the southeast USA and Canada.
