"Next up was Victory Gin"

Next up was Victory Gin, right from the shoundcheck noodlings of the banjo this was a guaranteed barnburner. Sure enough from the searing Foggy Mountain Breakdown banjo to the last thwack of the snare drum these guys delivered with a set that was a "hotter than a 1/4 acre of you know where'. I'm talking break out the shotgun pa and lock your daughters down, the hollers dancin and the devil's in the air.

These guys were by far the most traditional of the night's bands, right down to the infectious stop time hook that is still swimming around my brain: "you're my...cornfritter'. USDA Grade A sprime cut stuff here.

In the midst of their set, Michael Patrick joined them and they dlivered a rousing rendition of Johnny Cash's 'Cocaine Blues'. Im talking this shit was tighter than a frog's ass, and thats watertight. It drew me in from the opening riff..by the end of the first verse, I found my self 10 paces closer to the bandstand, hand whipping out of my pocket in some like some possed mime attempting to whip my .44 under my pillow.
Fucking A, B and C.

Bio

This four piece original act has identified their own sound with a bleeding mixture of rock and roll bluegrass, americana, soul, and vocal styling just not available on the music scene today.

Jim DeWitt/Songwriter - Is a wild visionary. Sometimes Dark, always mysterious, yet sensible and hooky. Not an easy combination to accomplish.

Jeff Wilson/Songwriter - Our ace in the hole story teller. Great rhythms, “Real feel”, Picnic, knee slappin love. You won’t believe this guy is from Jersey.

Joe Larsen - Accomplished solid groove player. Yeh, that’s right put on the click. He has no fear.
Joe has recently toured with Amphibian, and has also recorded and toured with multiple accomplished artists.

Gary Szymanski - The “bring it together guy”. Gary brings his versatile style to the unit. Playing everything from funk and blues to country licks. If you’re looking for a hook he just may find it.
