Vid Vidello is two girls, some dudes, and musical instruments.
The band was founded just one year ago by the two frontwomen, Noelle Furlong (lead vocals) and Dre Smith (keys, bass, vocals). Backing them on the guitars are Eric Carrillo and Alex Pfender, and the infamous Mr. Bill Wysaske on drums. Alex and Eric are both seasoned players who have been involved in multiple projects, and Bill is one of the busiest jazz drummers in LA, having toured and recorded with artists such as Michael Buble and Norah Jones.
Both Noelle and Dre have been involved in multiple musical projects, but eventually decided that hey, two girls are better than one, and thus Vid Vidello was spawned.
Since the inception of the band in September of 2009, Vid Vidello has been ironing out a truly unique sound with influences ranging from Muse to Bill Withers. Noelle brings the funk and soul, Dre brings the Punk and classical, Alex contributes solid rock chops and Thom Yorkian guitar stylings, Eric just plain shreds, and Bill's jazz background gives the music a feel-oriented and complex vibe that resonates in the songwriting. Vid Vidello has established themselves as a bicoastal act, playing packed shows in both NYC and LA. They have just released their first recording, the 3-song Sampler, a copy of which is included in this kit. The response to the Sampler has been overwhelming, and fans have been comparing the tracks to bands as diverse as No Doubt, Little Eva, and Lady Gaga. (I know, right...Lady Gaga?) Each track has been dubbed a "favorite" and the recording really displays that Vid Vidello's music is as catchy as they are distinctive: a true amalgamation of 5 very diverse musical minds.
