"An Interview With Villanova"

Villa*Nova is another crazy hybrid band that were mixing things up at The Rebellion. Combining elements of rock, funk, and hip-hop, the band is an slowly garnering a growing fan base. They just released their WTF EP via Universal Republic Records, and are set to tour with Crossfade this summer. Prior to this year’s Rebellion, Villa*Nova toured in support of Evanescence. As far as what to expect from a Villa*Nova show? Well, the guys said to pretty much expect anything! CRANK IT UP! - The Rock Revival

"Crossfade and Villa*Nova"

Nice job with the Rack City cover from Tyga...! Very interesting twist on the original and most say solid improvements to the Tyga version.

Keep an eye on this band as they are very tight and successful at mixing rock guitars, funky bass, pounding drums, DJ mix ups to culminate a new blend of music that is irresistible! -

"Carolina Rebellion"

2012 Carolina Rebellion is as follows: Shinedown, Korn, Evanescence, Staind, Five Finger Death Punch, Slash, Chevelle, Volbeat, Halestorm, P.O.D., Adelitas Way, Paper Tongues, Weaving The Fate/Villa*Nova, Redlight King, Red, New Medicine and Ghosts Of August. The festival will once again feature the two Monster Energy main stages and the Jägermeister third stage. -

"Evanescence and Villa*Nova- Kansas City"

Villa*Nova performed in support and did a spectacular job. The South Carolina quartet played a jazz-infused rock style with a twist of rap and funk mixed in. The musicians showcased their talent through bass and drum solos and kept the crowd interested and obviously gained some new fans along the way. -

"Evanescence and Villa*Nova- St. Louis"

Villa*Nova got the crowd excited and ready for the show. -

"Evanescence and Villa*Nova"

Villa*Nova were as cool as it gets. Next up were Villa*Nova who worked the crowd over proper. They did a great job and their rhythm section was insane. After their set was over, the stage transformed into the backdrop for Evanescence and the lights went out. - Waiting For Signal

"Villa*Nova "Str8 To The Bottom""

South Carolina rock band Villa*Nova is definitely something that will get you moving and will make you remember it after listening just one time. - Pheezy's Thoughts

"Spotlights: Villa*Nova"

The band seems poised for a big breakthrough with a hi-octane sound that draws from such influences as P.O.D., Foo Fighters and Maroon 5. - Go Upstate

"Villa*Nova Rocks The Beach at The Boathouse"

What if you took Linkin Park, Hoobastank, and Incubus and created a band? The result would be something like Villa*Nova, a four-man band out of Columbia, South Carolina, whose first EP, WTF EP, reflects the influences of various types of alternative, hard rock, rap rock, and nu metal. -

"Villa*Nova Talk "Rack City""

Villa*Nova might have made the heaviest party anthem ever with their infectiously invasive cover of Tyga's "Rack City".

It's got a detuned crunch so explosive it could set off a party of Project X proportions. We're not kidding. The South Carolina quartet twist and turn a slick hip hop bounce into moshpit-inducing groove metal. Frontman Brian Conner sounds uncaged and undeniable as he rolls through the verses with impressive bravado and screams the hook vibrantly. This is the ultimate 21st century party starter. - Artist Direct

Villa*Nova is destined for greatness. Their sound is an infectious, multifarious blend of, well, everything. The band conquers melding reggae, funk, rock, and metal to forge a sound that can only be defined as euphonious. Whether you’re looking for a party anthem, a song to jam to, or a track to rock to, Villa*Nova has it all.

Villa*Nova's passion, artistry, and talent are undeniable and pour forth in their WTF EP. Their first rock track, “Str8 to the Bottom” helped create a buzz for Villa*Nova, but “Rack City” is proving that the band has mass appeal and staying power. - Pop Break

"Township Auditorium Welcomes Back Local Acts"

Brian Conner's soaring, soulful and sometimes funk-reminiscent vocals emanate those honest, heartfelt lyrics that Villa*Nova has been known for. The music accompanying Conner's vocals encompasses a wide range of styles and feelings. From DJ Able One's hip-hop-based beats and Conner's strong distorted guitar to sweet, drawling acoustic melodies, Villa*Nova can cater to plenty of musical tastes. - The Daily Gamecock

"Villa*Nova at The Township Auditorium"

This is the best concert we've seen in 2011. Villa*Nova's music is a unique blend of high-energy rock / funk and flavors of reggae. They're enjoying their audience as much as their audience is enjoying them - all this came together to make for a fantastic show. - Township Auditorium

With singer and guitarist Brian Conner on board, Villanova qualifies as part of the Conner family musical dynasty out of Lexington, which includes the Conner Brothers acoustic duo, the Chris Conner Band, South, as well as mostly defunct Sourwood Honey. Villanova occupies the funkier rock end of the spectrum, like a mash-up of Sugar Ray's "Fly" with Jane's Addiction's "Mountain Song." - FreeTimes-K.Oliver

"5 Points After 5 May 17, 2007 6:30 PM"

Get rev’d up to get down with one of Columbia’s hottest bands around. Villanova is a crossroads of rock riffs, hip-hop beats, and soulful vocals that come together into a purely unique sound that they can safely call their own. Villanova’s lead singer and guitarist Brian Conner, has embedded himself perfectly with bassist Bobby Dredd, drummer Jeremy Finesse Roberson and DJ Able One to create an unusual blend of danceable jams, hard driving rock songs and soulfully written ballads. Though Villanova’s songs are radio friendly, each song is meant to be rocked live and that is exactly what Villanova will do, rock. - 5 Points Association - Columbia SC
