"New bands defined in Canada"

Seeking a psychedelic fix but can't find your Pink Floyd or Beatles
records anywhere? Then look no further than Lantzville, on Vancouver Island, B.C. Vilot is a rocking alternative
band that are blazing their way to rock n' roll stardom.

They've made amazing progress since they got together in 2004,
releasing two complete albums in their first year, both of which were met with great success, both in Europe and in Canada. They also toured England, Ireland and Spain in the summer of 2006.

The trio's music, whose sound can probably be best described as an
exceptional blend of psychedelic, British pop-rock and American indie rock, has already received acclaim abroad. Their first album, Magic Tea, was rated among the top five albums of the month, alongside Coldplay, in a French publication in 2005.

Barely a month after recording Magic Tea, they were back in the studio working on their second album, Good Deeds Radio Club.
At the same time, they were also putting on numerous shows, and within a year they had over a 150 shows under their belts, most of the time performing three-hour sets through-out the night.

Citing Joe Jackson, Elvis Costello, Wilco and The Lemonheads as major influences, lead singer/guitarist Vince Senini and younger brother percussionist Max, have been performing together since they were little. Together with the tight stylings of their long time bassist Karl Mejholm, they may very well be on the same path as Oasis, and other greats of the genre.

Currently, Vilot has just finished the taping of their first music
video O.Y.U, which will be aired this winter. Two of their singles are also set to be released in Europe, and although they are still in the studio working on their soon-to-be-released third album, plans for both Canadian and European tours for next year are already in the works.

Bio

Vilot is a three-piece rock band that has been formed over the last four years by brothers Vince and Max Senini and long time friend Karl Mejlholm. The three started playing music together in a run down house on Canada’s most western point Vancouver Island. With the long nights of pissing of the neighbors came a huge catalog of songs that the band agreed needed to be recorded. Over the next year the brothers tore apart the abandoned house and turned it into a somewhat functioning recording studio. After recording a couple EPs and independently releasing and promoting them Vilot decided to lay down a full-length album and hit the road.
In early 2005 the band recorded "Magic Tea," and within the next month they were receiving rave reviews about the album and their live performances. The three decided to head back into the studio and record another album titled "Good Deeds Radio Club," which also saw amazing reviews.

With these two recordings finished and a third in the works, Vilot teamed up with Play It Loud Music and booked a European tour, focusing on Western Europe. The month and a half long tour won many fans in the western European countries and extended Vilots radio play well into all of Europe.

Currently Vince, Max, and Karl are laying down the final tracks for their third release, which will be available in the winter of 2007.
