I write songs about the things I know. Growing up the son of a sailor-turned -truck driver I've seen quite a bit. People see things all the time, and never look at them. I try to get 'em to look.

Biography

We're experienced musicians. And we love all genres of music. What we try to do is bring people together, bring them into our songs and our show.
I like to think our shows feel like a family bar-b-que.

Lyrics

No Home for the Brave

Written By: Vince Cook

There's a homeless man with a stars and strips bandana
wrapped around his head
like Uncle Sam could give damn if he's alive or dead

These colors , they don't run
They don't stop to listen
So wrap yourself up in your falg
You'll find it's whole lot warmer
than a shopping bag

Cuz in the Land of the Free there's no Home for the Brave
In the Land of the Free there's no Home for the Brave

Is he a vargrant or a down and out vet?
Maybe just a ,man who can't read yet
His head is bowed his spirit is cowed
with hope's last drop leaking out

And in the Land of the Free there's no Home for the Brave
In the Land of the Free there's no Home for the Brave

Trickle down ecomomics
never trickled down to him
Some of us live up in the tree
others out on the limb

In the Land of the Free there's no Home for the Brave
In the Land of the Free there's no Home for the Brave

This thing we salute at tractor pulls
Stand at attention like sentimental fools
So i sit and I try to eat but it don't taste so good knwoing he'd eat my scraps if he could

Brother In the Land of the Free there's no Home for the Brave
I find In the Land of the Free
no Home for the Brave

A good funeral

Written By: Vince Cook

I love a good funeral
so many people say hi
only one to say goodbye
I could sit here for hours
just admiring the flowers
I love a good funeral

Well weddings are nice
despite the gift giving price'
Bar Mitzvahs are too
and I aint even a Jew
Catholics like to celebrate
when they get to a wake
and I love me a good funeral

They got all the food
And nobody's rude
Nobody trying to impress
with the way they dress
even people you hate don't seem so fake
And I love me a good funeral

You can judge a man best
when he's been laid to rest
You know he didn't live bad
If the funeral man's sad

It's the party of a lifetime
at the end of the line
I love a good funeral
I love a goood funeral
There's nothing like funeral make you glad to be alive

'57 Chevy

Written By: Vince Cook

There's a rusty '57
in an unused field
some farmer's metallic
perennial yield
paid for with money
from the GI bill
Home to the mice now
with a bird's nest in the grill

A pre-fab house and a TV dinner
driving a '57 you looked like a winner
First kiss in the front seat
First kid in the back
A nuclear family followed
in your tracks

Future just as bright
as a new headlight
too bad some turns ahead
are still out of sight
Elvis on the radio scaring
mom's generation
But Kruschev's down the dial
and he's scaring the nation

Get your boy off to school
then get him off to war
If they had a heart they might wonder what it's for
No more trips along route 66
no more trunk loads full
of his Christmas gifts
There's an olive drab sedan
behind your Chevrolet
the Captain says your boy's the casualty of the day

Faded paint used to reflect one man's satisfaction
Now it's lost to neglect

There's a rusty '57
in an unused field
some farmer's metallic
perennial yield
paid for with money
from the GI bill
Home to the mice now
with a bird's nest in the grill
