Bio

Vincent

As a band Vincent have been around for at least the last 10 years, they have been through various members and guises but have eventually settled on the current line-up.

Always hard working and persistent, Vincent’s members have taken years of experience with numerous other bands to create an eclectic mix of guitar orientated sounds to create a very original musical style. The end result is a sound that is similar in appeal but very different to anything else out there in the rock band genre. Listening to the album tracks it’s very easy to conjure up in the mind various scenes from a dark and almost threatening movie. Imagine moody opening titles of Vincent, glimmers of hope from Light of Day, moments of inspiration from Einstein, scenes of conflict with Mr Special, the heavy fighting action of Ricochet and the sinister figure of the Repo Man, enjoying his job reclaiming the goods that others have failed to.

Formed by existing members Dave Dimmer on Vocals and Matt Evans on Guitar the band have persevered with their very original style over the last decade.

Dave’s vocal style is one not to be taken lightly, it’s not what you’d generally expect after hearing what sounds like a classic “rock” intro. With a rockabilly edge, narrative and rap available the band are never sure what will come next. Lyrically the subject matter can appeal to a wide range and is not limited to focus in any singular direction.

Matt’s guitar style takes elements of Punk, Rock, Progressive, Indie and even very Heavy Metal slams them all into a blender, throws the blender into a grinder and makes a massive sandwich no self discerning critic could resist.

Jason Jones joined on Bass to bring to the band influences of rock, funk, rap and blues, keeping a solid interactive bass line, stabilising the rythym to allow the anthemic guitar solos freedom to fly.

Newest member John Harrison is a busy drummer, both in the drumming sense and in his active roll as a musician in demand. Loving all things percussive, John has brought the band back into the world of up-tempo in-yer-face rock. Not one to pass up on a good thing John is enjoying an active role in the new Vincent machine.

Vincent have spent 2009 refining and recording songs that have been in the set for some time. 2010 will be a year spent on new material, more recording and live gigs.

Vincent are extremely confident in their work and very happy with the line-up. As a band they ill continue to play and write together regardless of mass appeal or demand. Quite simply Vincent do it for the sake of creating great original music.
