Marian Heawood has had some commercial song releases in Ireland and in S.Africa, the releases were by popular artists in those countries. In earlier days, she won 1st prize in a BBC T.V. song contest set by Sammy Cahn, who wrote many songs for the celebrated Frank Sinatra.  Marian was a winner and several times finalist in the challenging International Song Contests in Ireland. She started writing stories, poems and songs as a child and took piano lessons and grades in her teens. Marian also sang in the famous (at that time) Hayes Girls Choir and was inspired to compose music by her musical director Brian Trant who had many of his works published and performed. Marian later composed a Christmas choral piece 'Nativity' for another Ladies choir and it was performed publicly several times and met with much enthusiasm. This choral piece can be found on Marian’s website (www.marianheawood.com) in the music section TOD Choir and the music is being played on the first Home page on the piano.

From an early age I have had a real passion for music and knew I wanted to work in music, but just wasn’t sure what it was I was going to do.

Although in 1996, I moved up to London and decided to start a career in Acting. I starred in a few fringe productions at theatres around London, including the Diorama near Great Portland Street and Riverside Studios in Hammersmith.

My passion for music took over in 2006. That year, I started writing lyrics seriously with a composer I met in London. Then in the following years, I collaborated with a few friends on various songs. It wasn’t until 2010, that I set foot into a professional recording studio in Manchester, a producer helped me with my Lyrics, set the them to music and I had a finished work. I found the experience very emotional and decided to pursue a career in music.
