Biography

Vincent Chandler is one of the finest Trombonist to hail from Detroit since his main influence Curtis Fuller. He received jazz lessons from Donald Walden, but hands on lessons performing with Detroit's local heroes such as Kenn Cox, Teddy Harris, Marcus Belgrave, Harold McKinney, Rodney Whitaker, Regina Carter and James Carter. Vincent has also performed with Joe Henderson, Clark Terry, Wynton Marsalis, Christian McBride and he was a featured artist on the 2009 Playboy Jazz Festival where he performed with Herbie Hancock and Marcus Miller. He is the former band leader of the popular Detroit based group "Urban Transport." Vincent is currently an Instructor at MSU, instructor/student at U of M, and a member of the Roy Hargrove Big Band where he is featured on Roy's Big Band CD, "Emergence."
