Bio

Vincent King felt, as if he was on the cusp of truly being accomplished…as he stood on the stage…absorbing the sounds of the roaring crowd. Though it was his first show case, all his hard work and frustrations suddenly felt so small in comparison to this triumphant moment. He felt blessed to understand his calling in life, knowing he had come a long way since first discovering his talent as a vocalist.
Vincent Pareese King was born in Brownsville Brooklyn, N.Y. where he was raised alongside his two brothers. It was here that he attended and sang in the children’s chorus at CHURCH OF THE OPEN DOOR. Vincent first realized that he could sing at the young age of ten, while singing along to his mother’s BOYS II MEN album “2”. In the sixth grade, it was then that Vincent discovered who his idol was, as he was impressed and fascinated by platinum-recording artist Usher’s second album, MY WAY. Upon graduation from junior high, he took part in recording his first CD with his graduating choir entitled, “Lighting the Way.”
Although Vincent’s passion for singing never truly faded, it seemed less & less attainable. By high school, it had become more of a pass time and Vincent’s fascination had lead him into the world of fine arts as he attended GRAPHIC COMMUNICATION ARTS HIGH SCHOOL. However, by the end of his sophomore year, his “pastime habit” of mimicking notes and arrangements from songs he heard became increasingly noticed. Admired by his peers as well as others around him, he decided to sign up for the school’s talent show. Due greatly in part to his lack of practice, he placed 3rd out of five acts. Vincent still wasn’t discouraged, it felt great to be singing again and it boosted an abundance of confidence for what was yet to come.
While in college, Vincent continued his studies in Fine Arts, where he also worked a part time job and spent 2-3 nights in the studio writing & recording. When Vincent heard of auditions for the Bad Boy label “Making the Band 4”, he skipped everything else for the day just to be there. Although, he didn’t make it to the next set of rounds, he didn’t stop there. After graduating college a few months later, Vincent & his college friends {Vincent “V” Wheeler & Jeffrey “Jemini” Benefield} formed a songwriting group known as Student Union (a building on their school campus where they met), later changing the name to what symbolized their brand, naming themselves “N*Unison”. Vincent & his team wrote and recorded a catalog of songs as well as utilizing the guidelines of the music business with help of their PRO company BMI. Soon after, Vincent performed in his first showcase, stealing the show. He went on to perform at numerous fashion shows & other showcases, even winning 1st place in some.
Today, Vincent is currently recording his first EP for release summer 2013 & has recently finished 2 remixes with Singer/songwriter Eric Bellinger. With showing growth in his art & finding his sound, Vincent King alongside N*Unison are still writing music and excelling in their dreams.
