Exotic winds are blowing across Norwegian folk music. Vindrosa is using instruments and traditions from many corners of the world. The album shows that music is a language that is spoken by everybody.. Add a mysterious and sharp Stina Kjelstad and a raw and soft Dag Sindre Vagle on vocals, plus top musicians with energy and inspiration, and you have a consistently excellent and varied album. Marvellous! - Romerikes Blad
Vindrosa, bases in the Stavanger region, has created an exotic fairy-tale of an album by following a good idea all the way - witout compromise.. The Norwegian and immigrant musicians perform the Norwegina folk songs like they were born in totally different parts of the world, and the result is a fabulous piece of "worl music". - Dagbladet (Norwegian Daily,Oslo)

Bio
With members from all around Norway and Marocco (sometimes Iran), Vindrosa plays Norwegian folk songs like they came from Brasil, Balkan or Sahara. With vocals in Norwegian and Arabic, kletzmer clarinet, latin and Irish flutes, guitarra portuguesa, ukulele, gopichand, kalimba and percussion from five continents it is a truly global sound, but as natural as homemade cheese.
Founded by Bjørn Vassnes and Sverre E Henriksen, Vindrosa made their debut in February 2011 with the album "Østenfor Sol" ("East of the Sun"), which got rave reviews ("Fabulous world music", "an exotic fairy tale of an album") and top rates. Booked for several festivals in the summer of 2011, Vindrosa is Norway's hottest world music group, with a unique fusion.
