VINILO

VINILO

BandRockLatin

New Latin Rock Band from Jackson Heights, Queens with a cross-over mainstream Rock n' Roll sound. Music is reminiscent of good ole rock and roll with a unique flair of modern dance-ability.

Biography

Although Vinilo writes and performs all in Spanish, this new latin rock band from Queens is reaching audiences through their charismatic performance and driving sound that transcends language. Adriana Diez's passionate voice and the powerful combination of Kenny Urbina's guitar, Roddy Cruz's bass and Cinque Kemp's drums they have begun to gain a broad fan base in New York City. Vinilo exemplifies the diversity of the city they come from, exposing their audiences to a unique kind of rock that knows no borders and yet is very accessible (and danceable!). Growing from co-workers to friends to band mates, each member of Vinilo brings with them a unique background (influences range from church music to jazz fusion, classic rock and alt-rock) and style that comes together creating a sonic experience that is fresh, accessible and powerful. Vinilo has quickly gained recognition as one of the top bands in the NYC Latin Rock scene, and Adriana as one of the most respected female vocalists in the genre, garnering comparisons to Gwen Stefani and Blondie's Debbie Harry. Vinilo’s debut LP “ALO!” which will include their hit single “El Pasado” that charted #1 on local NYC radio station www.codigoradio.com is slated for release this October.

EL PASADO

Written By: Adriana Diez

El pasado ya no existe
El pasado quedo atras
Y por eso yo te canto
Pa' que no me busques mas

El pasado ya no existe
Tu maldad lo destruyo
El dia que tu te fuiste
Enterraste mi amor

Ahora Sola Infeliz
Olvidando Recuerdos de ti

Nada cambiara
Tu eres Tu
Nada cambiara
Tu eres tu

Tu pasado ya no existe
El viento se lo llevo
Dejaste de ser mi amante
Mi amigo y mi amor

Mi pasado ya no existe
Tu franqueza lo borro
Con palabras insensatas
Que hirieron mi corazon

Ahora Sola Infeliz
Olvidando Recuerdos de ti

Nada cambiara
Tu eres Tu
Nada cambiara
Tu eres tu

Ahora Soy Feliz
Y mi alma te dice adios

Nuestro pasado ya no existe
Buenas noches quien sos vos
Para que queres mi nombre
Si esta historia ya se termino

ALO

Andas y andas esperando una llamada
Marcas y marcas pero todavía nada
Un dos tres mensajes ya ya se lleno el buzón
Me halo los pelos me me desespero yo
Para que tenés un celular
Si nunca me vas a contestar
Si nunca me vas a contestar
Escúchame escúchame
Para que son las palabras pues
Para que son las palabras pues
Alo alo alo alo alo alo alo alo
Contestame porfavor
Contestame porfavor
Contestame porfavor
Alo alo alo alo
Alo alo alo alo
Alo alo alo alo
Para que tenés un celular
Si nunca me vas a contestar
Escúchame escúchame
Para que son las palabras pues
Para que tenés un celular
Si nunca me vas a contestar
Escucha escúchame
Para que son las palabras pues
Para que son las palabras pues
Contéstame

HELLO (AS IN PICKING UP THE PHONE)

You’re waiting and waiting for this call
You dial and dial yet nothing happens
One, two, three messages, voicemail is full
I pull out my hairs, I’m in desperation
Why on earth do you have a cell phone
If you are never going to pick up my calls
Listen to me Listen to me
What’s the point of words then
It’s ringing. Its ringing, Oh its the tic toc of the clock
Reflects and reflects that I still haven't heard your voice
I block the phone then the call is answered
Hello Hello! It’s now disconnected
Why on earth do you have a cell phone
If you are never going to pick up my calls
Listen to me Listen to me
What’s the point of words then
Please pick up or answer me
Please pick up or answer me
Hello hello hello
Why on earth do you have a cell phone
If you are never going to pick up my calls
Listen to me Listen to me
What’s the point of words then
Pick up my call
Pick up my call
Note: “Contestame” also means “answer me”

EL PASADO - english translation

THE PAST

The past doesn't exist
The past is behind us
This is why I sing to you
So you stop coming around
The past doesn't exist
Your cruelty destroyed it
The day you left and
Buried my love
Now alone in misery
Forgetting memories of you
Nothing will ever change
You are simply You
Nothing will ever change
You are you
Your past doesn't exist
The wind blew it away
You are no longer my lover
My friend nor my love
My past doesn't exist
Your ‘ frankness ’ erased it
With insensitive words
That wounded my heart
Now alone in misery
Forgetting memories of you
Nothing will ever change
You are simply You
Nothing will ever change
You are you
But Now I am happy
And my soul says goodbye
Our past doesn't exist
Good evening who are you
Why do you want to know my name
If this story is already over.
