"Vin Keatin Is HHLO "Certified" For The Ladies"

R&B music has turned rather poppish since the new millennium struck 12. The 2000’s have almost casted the end of days for sensual R&B on mainstream radio and television.

One emerging artist who feels the needs to resurrect those R&B vibes is New York City singer Vin Keatin. His debut EP, Certified, has been well received by virtual R&B fans and critics alike starting with his sex-driven single, “Baby Making Music.”

Keatin has been offered performances galore throughout the Big Apple’s performance scene since the EP’s release and is certain he’ll be at R&B vanguard when his brand of music comes full circle.

HHLO.net recently took time to talk with Vin Keatin about Certified being “Sensual R&B at its climax,” making the bedroom the only battlefield lover’s share and more. Check it out.

What’s going on Vin? Let the people know who you are.

Hey everyone, I’m Vin Keatin, also known as Mr. Baby Making Music to most ladies. I’m from The Bronx and my music has been defined as “R&B at its climax.”

I read where you’re first love of music was inspired by watching infomercials of Elvis Presley doing his one-two thing [laughs]. How does that happen? And how did that manifest itself into who you are as an artist today?

(Laughs) well I didn’t have a curfew so I would be watching the infomercials until I fell asleep and the Elvis one’s where in heavy rotation so he inspired me to be a showmen and not just a great singer.

We know you recently released your debut EP, Certified, which has been described as “Sensual R&B at its climax.” Tell us know about the project.

Well Certified is basically R&B music’s return to the bedroom and what we set out to create was the soundtrack for the movie so to speak.

How has the feedback regarding the EP been? How are your sales?

The feedback has been amazing, getting love from all over the states. It’s really humbling it lets me know people want to hear what I’m saying and it feels really good.

Now, we all know that there’s always a love/hate element in all intimate relationships but you have a saying that basically says the only battlefield lovers should share is the bedroom. Explain that for us.

What I mean is if there was more love there wouldn’t be war; no fighting with your girl, squash all the differences in the bedroom and earn your purple heart in love [laughs].

Where does Vin Keatin want to be in 12 months time and what do you have lined up next to accomplish those goals?

I see myself doing promo tours across the United States. I see the Certified EP selling 50,000 copies physically and digitally. And I plan on being one of the main components in bringing back R&B to Billboard’s Top 10.

I’ve had some mixtape opportunities that are a blessing. It just means other artists are feeling my music and talent. I think I’m going to have to copyright this saying “I really just appreciate the luv.” I’m working on the potential remix of “Baby Making Music” with Ohio’s Slick Watts, which may lead to more, who knows.

It really shows hard work and perseverance pay off. I’m just excited to get to have more fun because music is not work to me its fun.

Before we leave you, let the people know where they can hear your music and purchase Certified.

You can check me out at ReverbNation.com/VinKeatin, Facebook.com/VinKeatin and Twitter.com/VinKeatin. And if you’re a believer that the bedroom should be the only battlefield lover’s share than purchase my Certified EP at Amazon.com and iTunes.

Any last words?

I really appreciate the luv [laughs]. Get used to seeing me. - Vin Keatin Is HHLO

"Vin Keatin Releases Debut Ep Certified"

Emerging R&B singer Vin Keatin is a break from the habitual hip-thrusting, pop-like music that passes for rhythm and blues today.

Keatin’s debut EP, Certified, is sensual R&B at its climax with a classic smooth, seductive sound which immediately draws listeners in.

“I wanted to bring R&B back into the bedroom,” says Keatin. “The only battlefield lovers should share should be between the sheets.”

Now available on iTunes and Amazon, Certified features steamy lovemaking hits like the EP’s lead single, “Baby Making Music,” where Keatin yearns for his girl’s love during work hours and the title track “Certified” which is about a raunchy sexual episode. The 7-track EP is packed full of provocative alluring R&B music.

Critiqulous.com says “Vin Keatin's debut into music shows a lot of potential. The look and the voice are in there… The songs have very minimal touches of effects that diminish the natural talent of the singer aka auto-tune. Time will tell where Vin goes with his music, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is talked as one of the successors to the R&B legends of the past.”

Born and raised in Bronx, NY, Keatin comes from humble upbringings where his love for music was cultivated at a very young age listening to late night infomercials of classic R&B Soul and Rock & Roll. His mother would tell him that the radio was always his best friend.

With his debut release Vin Keatin introduces the world to his heartfelt singing and honest lyrics. Certified brings the battlefield between lovers back where it belongs, the bedroom!

Certified is available at iTunes and Amazon. Preview the EP here and be sure to follow Vin’s latest news and happenings at Twitter.com/VinKeatin.

@VinKeatin An Artist To Watch Out For
Posted on January 27, 2011 by Maury1

Vin Keatin is a new artist on the rise who does that old school R&B mixed with the new school that is a breath of fresh air in the industry today. Vin Keatin followed me on Twitter (@Maury1KingBee), I told him thanks for the follow and to let me know if he wanted me to feature him and so I could hear some of his music. When I started messaging him he was so nice and then it solidified when I heard his music, I thought wow this man is talented. My favorite song is the one that his publicist sent me called “Baby Makin Music”. His publicist provided us with a biography and that is what you will find below.

“Certified R&B”

?
With a smooth and soulful delivery emerging R&B crooner Vin Keatin blesses listeners with amazing melodies reminiscent of greats like Donnie Hathaway and Stevie Wonder. Blending the old with the new Vin is creating his own brand of love making music.

Born and raised in The Bronx, Vin comes from humble upbringings where his love for Rhythm and Blues was cultivated at a very young age. He remembers staying up late nights listening and watching classic R&B Soul and Rock & Roll infomercials mimicking what he heard and saw. His mother would always tell Vin that the radio was always his best friend.

Even though Vin had R&B tunes in his head, a severe case of stage fright kept him from performing. It wasn’t until his senior year in High School when he built up enough courage to compete in a school showcase.

“Nobody knew I could sing, so when I showed up at the auditions everybody was like, ‘I didn’t know you rap’,” Vin recollects. “When I started singing they where blown away – people where crying. I got a standing ovation and they gave me an encore. Walking off that stage I said to myself this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.”

From there Vin began taking voice lessons. The singer’s music can be described in three words: genuine, honest and appreciative. Genuine because everything Vin sings comes from the heart; honest because his lyrics come from a truthful place; and most importantly, appreciative because women will feel appreciated listening to his music.

“I want them to just sit back relaxed, sipping wine and call their man,” says Vin. “Either way there’s going to be some appreciation.”

Presently, Vin is finalizing his debut LP, Certified, which is scheduled for release this coming January and promises to give R&B lovers good old R&B soul with a touch of today’s sound.

Vin is ready to introduce his music to the world. Heartfelt singing and honest lyrics make for great music, so it’s easy to say Vin Keatin will be relevant for a long time to come. Get to know him.

"Vin Keatin iNterview For iStandard"

iStandardProducers.com Interview with Vin Keatin

If you and your partner have been missing that spark in the bedroom than chances are emerging R&B singer Vin Keatin has the ingredients you’ve been missing.

The Bronx native’s brand of R&B is sensual and smooth like silk. His single “Baby Making Music” has generated quite a fanfare with close to 3,000 downloads since the song’s release.

However, “Baby Making Music” is only the tip of the iceberg. Keatin says his upcoming debut EP, Certified, is the fix to cure all R&B lovers’ addictions. Slated to drop on January 18th, the rising crooner is setting the stage as a Certified R&B artist with the best to come.

iStandard Producers recently interviewed Keatin about his music, the go-to-players in R&B and what fans can expect to hear on Certified.

What’s up Vin, let the people know who you are and where you’re from.

What’s up people its Mr. Baby Making Music, Vin Keatin, straight from The Bronx, New York.

You are currently promoting the single off your debut EP, Certified, which you are dropping on January 18. Talk to us a little bit about the single and how it came to be.

The single is called “Baby Making Music,” thus my alias [laughs]. It all came about like all the songs me and my partners create. We felt out the production and what is the track was saying to us. We all agreed the track was “Baby Making Music.” We have nearly 3,000 downloads and that is a huge blessing; it lets us know the time and the sacrifices we put in is not in vain.

What can R&B lovers expect to hear on Certified? Give us a tour of the EP?

They can expect to hear smooth vocals, clever writing and great production. There are no fillers on this EP, we set out to make something great and from the early reviews we have succeeded.

In a previous interview you said Trey Songz and Ne-Yo are the “It” R&B artists right now. What qualities does a singer have to have to be considered an “It” artist? In your opinion, what will it take to become that kind of artist?

What I mean is that they are the go-to-guys in R&B right now and comparing me to them is humbling. They are both great artist in there own right so anyone comparing me to them is saying I possess the same qualities. I think I have the right tools. It’s just about the world hearing the music now.

If you could have dinner with two of your favorite R&B singer of all time, dead or alive, who would they be and why?

If it could be anybody it would be Stevie Wonder and R. Kelly. They’re two of the greatest singers and songwriters ever, period no matter what genre. I would just ask them how they kept reaching new levels every time out. How did they stay ahead of the pack and be on top for so long.

Give us your final word; why should fans stay tuned to Vin Keatin and his debut EP, Certified?

They should stay tuned to me because Certified is the bedroom soundtrack of 2011 and beyond. And that’s real radio [laughs]! - iStandard

"Album Review: "Certified" (Vin Keatin)"

Listening to a R&B album these days creates a throwback feeling for me. I remember the days of the 90s where I would listen to KUBE 93.3 and it was practically half R&B and half rap/hip-hop. That was a long time as obviously with the emergence of the Internet, one is no longer restricted to what's on the radio. Especially mainstream radio, but that's a rant another time, in another article.

That said, here is an upcoming talent in the form of Vin Keatin. According to his bio, Vin didn't consider singing until his senior year in high school in which he floored the crowd at a showcase. Vin says, “When I started singing they where blown away - people where crying. I got a standing ovation and they gave me an encore. Walking off that stage I said to myself this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.”

And now splitting time between modeling Vin is starting a musical career. Inspired by the timeless R&B crooners of generations past. Here's the tracklisting for "Certified."

"O.D. On You" / "In My Head" / "Certified" / "I Wanna" / "After Da Show" / "Good Luv" / "Baby Making Music" (bonus track)

As usual hit the jump to see the review.

"O.D. ON YOU"
The beat is reminiscent of 70s and 80s R&B, mixed with a little touch of today's sound. It serves as a nice introduction to Vin as he gives respect to the sounds that influenced him, while letting us know that this is him and his sound.

Vin Keatin's debut into music shows a lot of potential. The look and the voice are in there and what I like most about the EP is that most of the songs have very minimal touches of effects that diminish the natural talent of the singer aka auto-tune. Time will tell where Vin goes with his music, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is talked as one of the successors to the R&B legends of the past.

"Vin-Keatin HoodGrown Online"

\"\"The weather is cold but emerging R&B singer Vin Keatin is promising to keep the winter months warm in your bedrooms. His lead single off his upcoming debut EP, Certified, “Baby Making Music” has the ladies in frenzy and is sure to open up more industry doors. Born in The Bronx, Keatin grew up mimicking greats like Marvin Gaye and Donnie Hathaway during infomercials. He knew early on that he would become a singer and believes his time has arrived.

We interviewed the rising crooner recently about being a singer, his single “Baby Making Music” and his debut EP. Read what he had to say.

What\’s going on Vin? For those who may not know you, tell them who you are, where you\’re from and where you\’re heading.

I\’m Mr. Baby Makin Music – Vin Keatin. I hail from The Bronx, NY, and I\’m headed to your girl’s iPod [laughs]. But really, I am.

When did you start writing and singing R&B music?

Well, I\’ve been singing since I was six, but I started writing and singing my material since I was 18.

Who are some of your inspirations and why? What have you taken away from them?

My inspirations are no particular order: R. Kelly, Marvin Gaye, Joe, Donnie Hathaway, and Michael Jackson. What I really took from them is the fact they sing with so much passion and conviction.

We had a sneak listen to your debut EP, Certified, and the one of the first things that came to mind was that you sing about love a lot. Coming from the rough-and-tumble Bronx, New York, I thought there would be some edge in your music but it’s quite smooth and relaxing. How have you been able to channel the negativity of growing up in the borough and manifesting it into wholesome, positive music?

With this release I wanted to really give the ladies the love and show them my appreciation. On later releases you will hear more about my upbringing but it will always be smooth that\’s just me [laughs]. I will shed more light on what i went thru growing up and how I got where I\’m at now.

So have you seduced any lady to \”Baby Making Music?\” It\’s the perfect song to do it to [laughs]. Fill the people in about the song.

[Laughs] nah, not yet I\’ve been in work mode, you know getting everything ready for the release of Certified on January 18th – shameless plug. It\’s a straight up bedroom banger no ifs, ands or buts about it made it for the ladies hope they love it.

Give us three adjective that will describe your debut EP, Certified, and why so people can go out and get it when it drops on January 18.

Whip cream, strawberries and baby oil – you feel me.

Leave us with you last words.

NOW!!! Let’s learn more about this smooth singer that they call VIN KEATIN.

GraeGram.com’s Interview with Vin Keatin

Emerging R&B crooner Vin Keatin has a sensual and soulful voice with amazing melodies reminiscent of greats like Donnie Hathaway and Stevie Wonder. Keatin is a throwback of sorts, blending old rhythms with his own brand of love making music.

Born and raised in The Bronx, Vin comes cultivated his love for Rhythm and Blues at a young age watching classic R&B Soul infomercials while mimicking what he heard and saw.

Presently, Keatin is finalizing his debut LP, Certified, which is scheduled for release on January 18th. The singer promises to give R&B lovers good old love making music to warm lovers up throughout the winter months.

Let’s discuss his musical style, his Certified EP and what his goal for the EP is.

GraeGram: It’s been said that your music “Manages to combine old school flavors of R&B, a dash of Soul, and mixes with modern artists similar to Trey Songz or Ne-Yo.” How do you feel about that critique?

Vin Keatin: Honestly I’m humbled because they’re doing their thing. They are the “It” artists in R&B right now. It just means what I’m doing is right.

GG: Your upcoming debut EP, Certified, stays clear of that hip-thrusting, pop-like “R&B” music flooding the airwaves nowadays. Certified has a more sensual theme. Tell the people more about the theme and your motivation behind it.

Vin Keatin: The idea behind Certified’s theme was to get back into the bedroom [laughs]. We wanted to make that after-the-club soundtrack and I think we did that. We wanted to make love making music geared towards the ladies.

GG: The lead single “Baby Making Music” falls right in line with the sensuality of the EP. What was going through your head when you compose the song?

Vin Keatin: Well the track just gave off that feeling. As a matter of fact the first thing I said to my management team was that the song feels like baby making music.

GG: I’ve heard you mention that you want Certified to be 2010's 12 Play, which is R. Kelly’s debut album. That is a lofty goal. In your opinion what was it about 12 Play that made it a classic R&B album and how did you attempt to rekindle those vibes?

Vin Keatin: Well, what R. Kelly’s 12 Play did was change the swing of power in music. At that time everything was dance music. 12 Play was red in a sea of white; that’s what I think Certified is.

A lot of kids where conceived to that album [laughs]. I tried to be sensual without being vulgar, all the while setting a consistent vibe. I had conversations with women and asked them what they wanted to hear in R&B music. They generally said they wanted to hear an artist speak to what they are going through in their relationships, so that’s what I portrayed.

GG: Do you have a favorite song on the EP, why?

Vin Keatin: My favorite song, that’s hard man I love them all. Whatever the ladies like the most is what my favorite song is [laughs].

GG: Where can the people find you?

"Vin-Keatin Review"

This is a new joint from Bronx native, Vin Keatin. His latest effort, “Baby Making Music,” is a worthy listen. Sometimes we need a break from all that hip thrusting, pop-like “R&B” music flooding the airwaves. This song sounds like it could use a bit more development, but I can see him going places. The song has a classic tone to it, which immediately drew me in! I’m looking forward to seeing what else Keatin has to offer sonically. - Miss LS

"Baby Making Music (T9E Exclusive Interview)"

Peep our latest interview with up and coming R&B singer Vin Keatin after the jump.

A throwback of sorts, emerging R&B singer Vin Keatin’s voice emanates a smooth, soulful tune that hits the chords of music lover’s hearts.

The Bronx born native has been receiving rave reviews for his lead single "Baby Making Music" off his upcoming debut LP, "Certified". Breaking away hip-thrusting R&B music the song has a classic tone to it, which immediately demands attention.

Keatin promises that "Baby Making Music" is only the tip of the iceberg and everything submerged is the icing on top. T9E caught up with Vin to talk about his inspiration and music.

The9Elements: Tell us a little bit about who you are and what inspired you to become a singer.

Vin Keatin: I'm Vin Keatin. What inspired me to sing was my love of R&B and the ladies. I love to sing to them.

T9E: In your opinion, what ingredients are necessary in a person to become a great R&B singer?

VK: You have to be able to sing and convey different emotions. You have to be a great showman as well.

T9E: Now you are currently working on your debut LP, "Certified", which I believe is slated to drop in January of 2011. What does it mean to be "Certified" and what should listeners expect to hear?

VK: They can expect to hear passionate, soulful music. I’m a grown man now and know what I want out of it and want to share that with R&B lovers. I’ve harnessed my musical abilities and that makes me certified.

T9E: Your official single off "Certified" is entitled "Baby Making Music." Why did you feel the need for your first record off the LP to be a sensual love making track as oppose to some freaky, get-your-grind on club banger?

VK: The team felt it was needed; R&B has taken a backseat to pop, so I felt the need to usher in a new wave of R&B. I make music for women. I want them to feel the music and I don’t think they would have felt my music initially if I came out with just another freaky club song.

T9E: You changed your stage name from Vincent Keating, which is your legal name, to Vin Keatin because you as you said you reached a "new stage" in your life. Can you explain what you meant?

VK: The new stage name is just a different look, a different mindset. I've matured a lot as man so I'm bringing that to the table.

T9E: If there is one thing you want your people to take from listening to "Certified" what would it be and why?

VK: I want them to take away the fact that there are R&B artists who can actually sing [laughs]. I’m going to give them a strong voice over great harmony in a major way. That I'm going to be a major factor in music for awhile.

T9E: Any last words?

VK: Get use to seeing this bald head [laughs].

T9E: Let the people know where they can find you.

VK: Find my music at ReverbNation.com/VinKeatin, and follow me on Twitter @VinKeatin and Facebook.com/VinKeatin. - The Element

""Listien: Vin-Keatin - Baby Making Music" Review"

While I tend to enjoy many genres, R&B was one I never really could get in to. Do not get me wrong I respect a lot of R&B artists, who can sing, write, and perform their hardest. Well, I was sent a track called "Baby Making Music" by singer Vin Keatin. After learning it was R&B, I was not sure what I would think. Yet to my surprise, I found his song catchy and smooth.

Vin Keatin manages to combine old school flavors of R&B, a dash of Soul, and mixes with modern artists similar to Trey Songz or Ne-Yo. Even more surprising to me was, he is relatively unknown to the music world. To me, he has the appeal that makes any great R&B artist: smooth lyrics, catchy tunes, style, and appeal.

His song "Baby Making Music" is basically a love ballad, but with somewhat of a edgy twist (think Trey Songz meets Jeremih). The song showcases what Vin is trying to accomplish and is a taste of his upcoming debut LP, Certified. Keep this Bronx singer in mind, I am sure you will see and hear more from him in the next few years.

""Vin-Keatin - R&B Certified""

With the weather dropping it’s that time of the year where couples coup up indoors, keeping themselves warm in each others arms. That said unsigned R&B singer Vin Keatin has the perfect song for those hot and steamy sex episodes inside your bedroom this winter.

Keatin’s “Baby Making Music” is exactly as the song’s title suggests, passionate love making between the sheets. The song is his lead single off his upcoming January LP, Certified. Inspired by the likes of Elvis Presley and R. Kelly, Keatin is preparing to leave his fingerprints all over the R&B genre.

QtheQuestion recently caught up with Vin Keatin and are pleased to introduce his talents to our audience. Read up on him here and make sure to put “Baby Making Music” on your baby making playlist.

QtheQuestion: You were born and raised in Hip Hop's birthplace, the south Bronx. How is it that you developed an ear for R&B music in a place and era where Rap music was beginning to take shape and popularity?

Vin Keatin: Actually I was born in the north Bronx. I don’t know. I was drawn to R&B music by my parents they played pure R&B in the crib. From The Manhattans to Whitney Houston and MJ.

Q: Did you ever want to rap?

VK: [Laughs] I would freestyle with my boys but I never seriously thought about it. On the real, some of favorite artists are rappers. It has inspired my writing.

Q: I read where you said you grew up listening to Elvis Presley infomercials which left a big impression on
you. Is there any of Elvis' Rock & Roll in you [laughs]? What did you learn from watching and hearing his music as a youngster?

VK: I learned that soul doesn’t have a color. He was such a great performer and singer. I was like “Wow that’s what I’m going to do.”

Q: Who else helped mold or influence your sound? How so?

VK: R. Kelly, I'm a die-hard fan/student of his music. His versatility to me is amazing to go from “Bump-n-Grind” to turn back the hands of time. When I was in my teens my sound was R. Kelly. I had his runs down and everything. He really inspired me to write my own music. But when I met my voice coach she told me that no one wants a copy they want the original so I created my own sound.

Q: Talk us about your single "Baby Making Music." Sounds like you're ready for fatherhood [laughs]?

VK: “Baby Making Music” is real self-explanatory. [Laughs] nah, I'm just trying to be the ladies’ daddy.

Q: If your upcoming LP, Certified, is anything like "Baby Making Music" then the ladies are going to be in
frenzy. What should we expect to hear?

VK: They should expect to hear great R&B music. Nothing more, nothing less.

Q: Why did you title your LP Certified? What is its significance?

VK: I titled it “Certified” because now I feel I'm musically and physically certified. I feel I've got a good grasp of my musical talents therefore I'm certified.

Q: Is there anything you want to tell the people?

VK: Get use to seeing me. Follow me on Twitter @VinKeatin and listen to my music at Reverbnation.com/VinKeatin. - QtheQuestin.com

VIN KEATIN
“Certified R&B”

“Nobody knew I could sing, so when I showed up at the auditions everybody was like, ‘I didn't know you rap’,” Vin recollects. “When I started singing they where blown away - people where crying.

“Either way there's going to be some appreciation.”

Presently, Vin is finalizing his debut LP, Certified, which is scheduled for release this coming January and promises to give R&B lovers good old R&B soul with a touch of today’s sound.

Vin is ready to introduce his music to the world. Heartfelt singing and honest lyrics make for great music, so it’s easy to say Vin Keating will be relevant for a long time to come. Get to know him.
