In the Love

Written By: Vin Lamar

IN THE LOVE

You gave to me the laughter, you took away the pain
You gave to me the sunshine and dried up the rain
You gave to me the innocence like a sparkling drop of sun
It was magic catching moonbeams it was fantasy and fun

And I know that heaven sent you, you’re an angel from above
And I cherish each moment that we were in the love

Tell me where does the time go, tell me reasons for goodbyes
Tell me why do our hearts break when angels want to fly
Tell me where does the sun go when it’s clouded by the rain
It breaks out in a rainbow to give us hope again

Although you’re not with me you’re always in my heart
I’m sending my love to you even though we’re apart

I don’t know where it went to I guess we’re not through with the pain
But I want to know what happened so we can blossom again

‘Cause I know that heaven sent you you’re an angel from above
And I cherish each moment that we are in the love

In the Basement

IN THE BASEMENT

I’m in the basement, digging it up, digging a hole up to the sky
I’m in the basement, digging it up, I’ll be digging ‘til I die
I’m in the basement, digging down into my soul
I’m in the basement, digging up these feelings from that never ending hole

I’m digging up the fear the anger and the hatred
The separation illusions that take me underground
I’m digging up the pity for my beleaguered life
Depression and seduction that’s buried all around

I’m in the basement, digging it up, digging a whole up to the sky
I’m in the basement, digging it up, I’ll be digging ‘til I die
I’m in the basement, digging it up, digging down into my soul
I’m in the basement digging up these feeling from that never ending hole

I’m digging up the bones buried in the closet
Put there by the dog in me that takes me underground
I’m digging up the pain that’s all I can relate to
Feeling all the agony that’s buried all around

I’m in the basement, digging it up, digging a whole up to the sky
I’m in the basement, digging it up, I’ll be digging ‘til I die
I’m in the basement, digging it up, digging down into my soul
I’m in the basement digging up these feeling from that never ending hole

I’m going to give it all away to the poor and the needy
To the rich and the prosperous that need a little pain
I’m going to exorcise myself in the name of God almighty
Before I go totally insane

I’m in the basement, digging it up, digging a whole up to the sky
I’m in the basement, digging it up, I’ll be digging ‘til I die
I’m in the basement, digging it up, digging down into my soul
I’m in the basement digging up these feeling from that never ending hole

The Eyewitness

THE EYEWITNESS

Oh poppa where are you going on this dark and stormy night?
Are you looking for something in the shadows, something wrong that feels so right?
You can deny it push it down, and beat it with a hammer but the truth is I’m a part of you
Have you even once looked into the mirror and loved every part of you?

I’m the eyewitness I see the whole nothing but the truth
I’m the eyewitness I tell the truth nothing but the truth

Oh momma why are you in such a hurry? Can’t you stay with me for a while?
Come sit with me in the darkness stop putting yourself on trial
Embrace yourself and everything there is about you
Bring it to your bosom like a little child
There’s no time for loathing in this moment
Bring the pieces back together, reconcile

I’m the eyewitness I see the whole nothing but the truth
I’m the eyewitness I tell the truth nothing but the truth

A house divided cannot stand a house divided cannot stand
Love it all yes you can.
A house divided cannot stand a house divided cannot stand
Love it all yes you can.

I’m the eyewitness I see the whole nothing but the truth
I’m the eyewitness I tell the truth nothing but the truth

Parchment Paper mp3

Written By: Vin Lamar

Parchment Paper

Parchment paper and a feather ink pen, writing thoughts to you that I’ll never send
Candles flicker in the dead of the night thinking of you, hope you’re doing all right
Witnessing time as it flows down the stream sometimes the life I’ve lived feels like a dream

And I see myself from up above and realize it’s only love that
Keeps me breathing, keeps me alive keeps me breathing, keeps me alive
It’s only love that keeps me alive

Silent stillness and a listening ear calms the troubled sea and settles the fear
Loneliness is for an unconscious mind I’m sitting alone and I’m feeling fine
No one has to be here to tell me that I’m okay free to live the joy of today

And once I have it for myself I’ll spread it all around
And not expect it in return an inner source I’ve found
And I see myself from up above and realize it’s only love that
Keeps me breathing, keeps me alive keeps me breathing, keeps me alive
It’s only love that keeps me alive
