Vin Lamar - Album Vin Lamar
Vin Lamar is a totally new name to me as I'm sure he his to most of you guys, so I wasn't sure what to expect when I put this CD on firstly it's a twelve track album of self penned songs. It soon becomes apparent that Vin as a thoughtful probing mind, these songs explore every avenue of relationships, and manage to come up with new angles of old themes. This is not a dancers album although like most albums there are tracks you could dance too.
Vin sets about giving the listener something to enjoy and explore, his vocals are excellent the musicians are second to none. The songs are about love and relationships probing just about every angle from meeting to marriage and break up. At first listening you may like me wonder what all the fuss is about but after a couple of plays you will really appreciate the subtlety of this album, Vin has a quality about him that will guarantee his success. Buy the album and keep listening is my advice you won't be disappointed.

Born in Lancaster Pennsylvania, Vincent Lamar Buckwalter has been writing and performing music for over 30 years. Vin began writing songs in high school and when attending college in Kansas he produced two albums of original work. After graduation he located to Sarasota where he formed the band “Ridin’ High”. Shortly thereafter he was offered a job at a resort in Ohio where he played in a country trio called the “Buck Nelson Band” and fronted such acts as Barbara Mandrel and Ronnie McDowell. Not able to survive the northern winters, Vin again moved to Sarasota in the early 80”s and helped form the band “Stryker” in 1985. As the keyboard player in this band fronted by two female singers Vin learned to play the stack (4) of keyboards while he entertained with his original costumes and hats, harmonies and occasional lead vocals.

Vin fronted the band "Stryker" from 1992 through 2000 and was renowned for his “Talking Heads” set and his passion on stage. The band released an original CD in 1995 with lyrics and melody lines written by Vin. Performers appearing on stage with Vin during those years include Tommy Shaw of Styx, Tom Shultz of Boston, and Brian Johnson of AC/DC.
