White Noise Radio is the musical creation of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Vinnie Velez. This New York born musician Vinnie Velez has been musically inclined since before his teen years, actively performing and recording for bands at age 12. Under the name Vinnie Velez, the track "Medusa" off a self-titled EP earned Vinnie his first commercial radioplay, a top 10 favorite spot on the once famous farmclub.com and national recognition.
WNR's homegrown debut album was released on July 4th of 2008 and garnered much attention from young listeners and scene veterans alike, catching the ear of AllMusicGuide writer Robert Michael Sutton who helped spread WNR music across the US radio soundscape and the internet music world. The upcoming White Noise Radio EP "Paint the Sky" looks to further spread Velez' music out across the airwaves both here in America and overseas.
WNR has been featured across the USA on various commercial, internet, and college radio stations. Vinnie recently played at the famed "EGG" Albany, NY venue. He currently plays both solo shows and full on band showcases in the Northeast. One previous showcase of note found Vinnie face to face with Peter Tork of the Monkees after his set. Peter's words to Vinnie were brief..."Get the hell out of this town and go do this. You are too big for here." Those words remain on Vinnie's mind with each step he takes musically.
Great musical and spiritual inspiration for Vinnie comes from his little 3 year old daughter Emmy Rain. For Vinnie every song and every performance has that much more purpose and dedication behind it now. He has been songwriting since the age of 12, was discovered by Sony Records A&R at age 16, has opened for numerous National Acts along the way, interned at the famous Clubhouse Studios, and yet still somehow feels that he is just coming into his own as a writer and performer. "I feel refreshed, invigorated, and ready for an exciting future in music. I have something to prove, and will love every minute in the studio or up on stage doing just that for America."
