"Vinyette plays twice this weekend in NYC (March 29-30) + announces album"

Four-piece Brooklyn band Vinyette is set to play some shows around town as they gear up to release their debut album, "Every Little Mouse Run," on May 7th. The alt rock band has four upcoming shows in New York City, including two this weekend: March 29th at The Paper Box, and March 30th at SPiN Galactic. Devised so that each song contributes to the album collection as a series of vignettes in a story, the upcoming album features at once classic and atmospheric rock undertones and contemporary art references ranging from Dalí to Kubrick. Check out the video for single "Meatball Love Tone" here.

March, 2013 New York NY- Vinyette's debut album Every Little Mouse Run is set for release May 7, 2013. Their first video "Meatball Love Tone" will be available March 1, 2013.

Vinyette is a four-piece band from New York City that features cinematic rock silhouettes with grinding, groovy undertones. The band: drummer Jonathan Crowley, guitarist Danny Monico, lead singer Nathan Frye and bassist Jay Ambrose met shortly after 9/11.

Every Little Mouse Run was written like a painting created with a palette of life and survival. The album was recorded at One East Recording in New York City and was produced by John Reed, Founder of Ronin Guitars and was mastered by Scott Hull (Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Rage Against The Machine).

The first video, "Meatball Love Tone" showcases the band's talents for groove and grit. Melodic rock metaphors meet intense modern fusion. Monico explains, "The vibe of the song is playful and quirky, but with attitude. Crowley adds, "The song is about changing patterns and inevitably breaking those chains." Frye sums it up, "It's kind of a love song for every man who needs to come out of his shell."

The band's thought provoking and lush songwriting has matured and evolved due to their need for expression and release. Vinyette's harmony in life echoes their progressive sound. Each band member knows his place, like the ticking of time marching to the tune of an evolving world. - Star Article

"No Ordinary Scene"

New York-based quartet Vinyette produce angst-ridden, ambient
arrangements along a path of changing tempos, rhythms,
moods, and melodic motifs. Channeling eminent 90’s tenors
from grunge, metal, “Seattle sound,” and progressive rock,
Vinyette build innovatively from their inspirations on their two EPs.
The Porno intertwines a patchwork of paces, permeating power, and
provocative prose; Geneology of Morons evolves from a ticking time
bomb of wispy vocals and taciturn tapping, and temporarily settles into
a dancy beat before drifting into Vinyette’s propensity for urgency; and,
a more recent track, “She Likes Gangsters,” begins with whispering
vocals and psychedelic effects but soon changes mood, swelling and
slinking along with jazzy guitar riffs and arpeggios, then transforming
again, this time into a funk jam, and closing with gunshots. Listen as
Vinyette adds more to their future scenes of cinematic rock.

How and when did you discover you were bound to be a
serious musician?

It appears the rock world is experiencing its own black plague
phase. There is so much uninspired music out there driven by
puppets, and the greats are few and far between. We all found
out very early on that what we were creating connected with
people, and felt compelled to create music that we
are proud of, that reaches out to musicians and music lovers alike.

Why did you decide to spell Vinyette the way you did?

We loved the meanings of the word Vignette, and wanted all that it carries. We liked the way it looked and felt we could highlight the NY part of it. Also, Vinyette is basically the second coming of Led Zeppelin, who also changed the spelling of their name to prevent mispronunciations.

Who are your favorite contemporary bands?

Blonde Redhead, Caribou, Bibio, Radiohead, Elliott Smith, The Black
Angels, Queens of the Stone Age, The Strokes, Caveman, Francis and the Lights, Social Hero, Mother Brother, Gifts From Enola.

If your music was the soundtrack for a film, what type of film would it be?

Edgy, cerebral, gritty thriller stuff. Think “Momento” to “Menace II Society,” “There Will Be Blood” or “Last of the Mohicans,” We would love to work with David Lynch, Michele Gondry, Darren Aronofski, and Danny Boyle.

What can we expect from Vinyette in the next few years?

Expect magical theater. Expect a full length album and critical acclaim.
Expect national tours. For that matter expect international tours. - The Deli

Bio

Vinyette is a New York City rock band that was established originally in 2008. Nathan Frye is the lead vocalist with Danny Monico on guitar, Marc Ligenza on bass guitar and Jonathan Crowley on drums and synth.

Friends and comrades both on and off stage, the kinship between Vinyette is illuminated in their high-energy new album, live performances as well as their videography. Their first LP, "Every Little Mouse Run" is an eclectic mix of Rock, Funk and Punk vibes with crafty rhythmic changes, as Vinyette creates an orchestrated maelstrom, a pandemonium that is both daring and infectious. Their live performance integrates schematic back-projection, visuals feeding off each song, which are produced and edited by Vinyette. Vinyette has released 3 music videos from their new album including "Meatball Love Tone", "Twenty Dollar Doctor" and "Tattoo Crazy"; as well as tongue in cheek promotional videos including a special guest appearance by Vinyette mega fan Candy Crowley of CNN.

Vinyette recorded Every Little Mouse Run, in true rock tradition, in analogue at One East Recording (credits include: The Beastie Boys, David Lee Roth, Sheryl Crow) in New York City. Yohei Goto (credits include: Keith Richards, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Jason Bonham) is the recording engineer. The album was produced by John Reed, Founder of Ronin Guitars. The CD also features a guest appearance on organ and keys from the legendary Jimi Zhivago (credits include: Norah Jones, Rufus Wainwright) and was mastered by Scott Hull (credits include: Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Beastie Boys, Rage Against The Machine) at Masterdisk.
