Vinyl Floor, hailing from Denmark give you the kind of melodies that take to a peaceful place. Almost like new version of the Beatles with a Coldplay twist! Believe me you will definitely enjoy when you listen to this band, they are amazing. Their song “Written In The Cards” brings to life a soft and rhythmic tune that keep your ears buzzing the whole time. A little background info about Vinyl Floor is, the band was formed in 2007 and consists of the two brothers Thomas Charlie Pedersen and Daniel Pedersen and the longtime friend and colleague Rasmus Bruun.
The Album Peninsula gives you the means to feel their music in a way that truly is inspiring. They collectively have produced songs that truly warm the spirit and tells a story!
- GFrock
Vinyl Floor, a four-piece rock outfit from Copenhagen, have released this concept album accompanied by some truly delightful packaging. With intricate, eye-catching, Victorian themed paintings, along with the full text of the lyrics, Peninsula looks good. But what about it’s sound? - The Upcoming
I absolutely love it when bands email me. Sometimes they are not so good, other times they are amazing. Luckily for me, when contacted by Vinyl Floor, I found out quickly that they are very put together. This being their second release, the trio from Denmark are ready to make a splash. I truly am sorry I missed this one! From February of this year, I give you "Peninsula". - takingovertheuniverse.net
With Peninsula Vinyl Floor prove themselves worthy students of Britpop.
Peninsula is an impressive record in terms of scope and sound. Clearly, Vinyl Floor have done their research on the best of Britpop. Unfortunately, some of the worst elements of that genre are brought out at various points throughout Peninsula. It’s a shame because it ultimately deadens some of the impact of an interesting concept. - Popmatters
Absolut altmodisch! Also: Keine Angst vor großen Gefühlen!
- Wahrshauer
You recorded Peninsula in Sweden. Are there any qualities of your music that are inspired especially by your homecountry Denmark? Is there an influence on your music by the places you live in temporarily?
VF: Our music is first and foremost inspired by English and American music, but we also like to draw in other sources of inspiration such as the verse form on which the Scandinavian psalms are based upon. You can especially hear this in the songs Baton Rouge and Frozen Moon.
We all live in Copenhagen but our rehearsal space is in the countryside. We think our music reflects both the vibrant city and the calm surroundings of the countryside.
How is the reception of your music in Denmark? Are you more successful abroad? Why (not)?
VF: We are currently getting more attention internationally especially on American iTunes where we have received much positive feedback. In Denmark we are still part of the underground community, even though we have had some airplay on national radio. We strongly believe that our music has international elements to it - universal if you like.

- Schallgrenzen
You often find that the nicer the packaging the more disappointing the contents, as if someone has recognised the failings of their product and cynically tried to make it appear better than it is. Vinyl Floor's "Peninsula" does not conform to this rule of thumb.
For a single CD the packaging is impressive - a double gatefold digipack making possible a cover drawing of sweeping grandeur. The centrally mounted CD is decorated to represent an old fashioned compass, and is accompanied by a 28 page booklet which alternates lyrics with coloured etchings in a 19th century style. Sumptuous sums it up, and the music lives up to it. - Americana Uk
(Karmanian Records/Broken Silence)
The dreaded ‘concept album’ can often be a contrived mess of half baked ideas and nonsensical bollocks. Peninsula, I’m happy to report, is an exception to that all too familiar rule. - This is a pop scene
Vinyl Floor is a band that originated in Denmark in 2007, founded by two brothers Thomas Charlie Pedersen and Daniel Pedersen and the longtime friend and colleague Rasmus Bruun. The Band initiated Karmanian records and took the initiative to create and record their materials themselves. In 2009 Karmanian records released their first album, Do You Still Dream, recorded and mixed by Vinyl Floor. Since then the Ban has played over 100 shows including 15 in Japan. - Uthmag.com
Peninsula is the second album by Danish trio Vinyl Floor. It is a concept album based on the two ancient philosophical precognitions of the utopia and dystopia. Lyrically it explores the inherent anxiety between the two worlds but fails to construe any meaning due to the incapable vocals of lead singer Thomas Charlie Pedersen. This leaves the album as a standard collection of guitar orientated songs which, although are beautifully accompanied by The Vindla String Quartet, are a little plain. - Music review unsigned magazine
‘Frames and Orchids’, the instrumental opener to VINYL FLOOR’s Peninsula album, is dramatically beautiful, the herald of a story on its way which has the band as its directors, interchanging lead vocals and inviting Swedish musician friends and The Vindla String Quartet to play a part. - Wicked mike

Bio
Vinyl Floor is a 3-piece rockband which hails from Copenhagen, Denmark. The band was formed in 2007 and consists of the two brothers Thomas Charlie Pedersen and Daniel Pedersen and the longtime friend and colleague Rasmus Bruun. The sound is very much their own but the style is primarily drawn from the melodic and energetic 60´s/70's and likewise from the edgy progressive rock of the 90's. The band combines symphonic and grandiose expression with the urge to write melodic songs, always non-compromising and exploring new frontiers.
Do You Still Dream:
The long awaited debut album Do You Still Dream was released in September 2009 and it features 13 songs, all capturing the melodic depth and distinctive atmosphere which characterizes the sound of Vinyl Floor. After the release of Do You Still Dream the band went to Japan and played 15 shows in Tokyo and area.
Peninsula:
In 2010 a 'song camp' began at the bands rehearsal space. New songs were written to what would become their second album. An EP, featuring four songs from the album, was released in 2011. Then in February 2012 the entire album entitled Peninsula was released by Karmanian Records. Peninsula was recorded in Sweden during the summer of 2011 at Studio Möllan with engineer and producer Emil Isaksson, the Vindla String Quartet and other Swedish musicians.
The four songs displayed on this site are from the Peninsula EP and the Peninsula album as well.
Vinyl Floors musical style is hard to nail down as they shift through different territories, turning everything into a majestic mix of progressive and alternative pop/rock.
In 2009 they set up their own label Karmanian Records.
'Peninsula' was furthermore released in Northern Europe on the 25'th of May 2012 by Divine Records/Broken Silence.
