Violet Stone brings the back country to the big city with a hard-drivin' mix of rowdy riffs, nasty licks, and hard-core funk. This tasty turn of metal & southern rock makes Violet Stone a band you just can't miss!

Biography

Making something out of nothing is not a new concept for VIOLET STONE...could even be considered a motto (if the motto wasn't already “Play now, sleep later!”). Marc Korte built this band in 2007 from the ground up, and in a few short months, the first incarnation of Violet Stone, then named Black Friday, was already rattling the rafters of Long Island venues. Lighting up such venues as TRAXX in Suffolk County and Dublin Pub & Nutty Irishman in Nassau County, not to mention National Underground, Local 269 and Connolly's Klub 45 in Manhattan, the guys rocked every corner of the tri-state area.

Coming from disparate musical tastes, Violet Stone has developed a knack for turning the usual into something unusual. While the basis of most of their creations sits firmly in the commercial arena, Marc's innate & ironic feel for southern rock riffs brings a new sound to a standard pop construction. With a long history in theatrics and complex musical phrasing, Jimmy F carves sublime harmonies out of straight-edge rock tunes. Santo's background in groovy jam bands belies his heavy metal bass licks. And that's the key to Violet Stone's sound: taking something normal and transforming it into something exceptional!

Now poised for a leap forward and already making some waves, Violet Stone promises to satisfy that growing thirst for a damn good American rock band. Everyone wonders where all the good music went. Where's the next Zeppelin? Who's going to be the next Beatles? But, there will never be another of any of them. They were who they were, and no matter how many attempt to copy, emulate or take off from past legends, nobody has the market cornered on breaking new ground. They say there is nothing new under the sun...but just as the face of the earth is ever-changing, so is music. Violet Stone doesn't purport to be the next anyone...they are their own thing. And the unique, familiar, strange and beautiful sounds they make will forever be the Violet Stone sound!

Lyrics

Memory

Written By: Marc Korte

You walk too slowly...to see your nightmares
You hide behind your...satisfaction
We see your face now...and what it mirrors
But take this before you go...you should know!

Every time that you think of me, think of nothing.
Clear it all before you go, now, go...

Every step that you take, you'll find my memory!
Every breath that you rape, you'll find your envy!
When there's nobody left, and no soul to cry on!
Every step that you take, you'll find my memory!
FIND MY MEMORY!

Behind closed doors now...when no one's looking
We'll find you hiding...and pacing slowly
But sleep won't come now...and your mind is racing
With a bottle on your sleeve...you should know

Every time that you think of me, think of nothing.
Clear it all before you go, now, go...

Every step that you take, you'll find my memory!
Every breath that you rape, you'll find your envy!
When there's nobody left, and no soul to cry on!
Every step that you take, you'll find my memory!
FIND MY MEMORY!

But you go...yea!
But you go...yea!
But you go...yea!
But you find your memory, find your time!
But you go...yea!
But you go...yea!
But you go...yea!
But you find your memory, find your time!
